Helene took most of our trees in the River Park. Being a resilient and resourceful community, FBC residents donated funds to purchase trees and met at the park on Saturday to plant willows, maples and river birch. With our newly build pavilion, handmade furniture that residents made from the wood of the trees that were lost, and the addition of the new trees, it’s starting to look like a park again.

The Hales and the Plexicos, FBC residents, noticed a pigeon in our Lodge grill terrace boulder wall that seemed lost. Determined to help the pigeon, they called Heartwing Haven Pigeon Rescue, founded by Ciara Duncan, to help find the frightened bird a safe home. Ciara knew that capturing pigeons is easier at night due to their poor night vision, and she arrived at the Lodge in the evening to capture the bird. After successfully catching the pigeon, she transported it back to Heartwing Haven to give it a home. An update was recently sent from Ciara and it seems that our lost pigeon has happily adjusted to their new surroundings!
