Southwest Virginia Restoration Branch of the American Chestnut Foundation The Southwest VA Branch is part of the VA Chapter of The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF).

Our efforts toward American chestnut restoration are focused in Southwest VA, including TACF's Meadowview Research Farms.

The SWVA Branch members are planting chestnuts using a nut planter designed for acrons. A hole is created, nut dropped in, and soil plug replaced with minimal disturbance. Emergance of seedlings will determine the success of the process.
