What an incredible day with the Atlanta Lions Club!

Earlier today, I had the opportunity to visit the club to begin turnover discussions with incoming District 2-X2 Cabinet Secretary, Lion Cindi Young.

However, the true blessing of the day was taking part in a very special celebration honoring Lion Joel Steger for an amazing 50 YEARS of service as a Lion! 🦁💙💛

As members reflected on Lion Joel’s journey, the themes were clear — leadership, mentorship, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. His guidance and dedication have clearly played a major role in the success and strength of the Atlanta Lions Club.

Congratulations, Lion Joel, on this extraordinary milestone and thank you for your decades of service and inspiration to others!

Lion Dale Silvertooth was honored to present this special award during a recent awards ceremony as the club continues its commitment to supporting education and future community leaders.

🦁 District 2-X2 Lions Officer Training is Coming Soon! 🦁

All District 2-X2 Lions are invited to attend Officer Training on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM at First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, Texas.

This training will help prepare Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, Zone Chairs, and Membership Chairs for a successful 2026-2027 Lion Year.

District 2-X2 Lions, Waskom Lions Club has challenged all District 2-X2 Clubs to match their hole sponsorship donation of $500.00 which is sponsorship of 5 holes at the Annual Wickersham Golf Tournament that will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026. Further Waskom Lions Club has challenged all Lions to individually donate $100.00 for a single hole sponsorship. As depicted on the Texas Lions Camp website, “The history of this Golf Tournament began with four Texas Lions (Lions Mike Butler, Marshall Cooper, Bruce Rickert and Harry Wickersham) coming to the Annual Board meeting of Texas Lions Camp (TLC) in Kerrville to enjoy fellowship with each other. They all loved to play golf and so what began on a $10 per person gentlemen’s donation at the Flying L Ranch Golf Course in Bandera, Texas, has grown into a major FUNdraising event which generates more than $100,000 annually for children with special medical conditions. Other Lions heard about the golf outing and dozens joined in to play in subsequent years including Lion Ed Stebbins who was recruited to help organize the event into an annual fund-raising opportunity. He made the original presentation to the TLC Board of Directors to make the Golf Tournament an annual fund-raising event as well as recommended that the event be named in honor of Lion Harry Wickersham (who was the real golfer in the original foursome). In addition, he recruited Lion Lester Frantzen and the Fredericksburg Lions Club to help organize and operate the tournament each year." The hole sponsorship form and additional information are attached. All proceeds generated benefit Texas Lions Camp. District 2-X2 Lions, Mark Your Calendars! Kilgore Lions Club is having a BBQ Leg Quarter Meal fundraiser on Saturday, May 16, 2026, 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at 307 North Rusk Street in Kilgore. Cost is $10.00 per plate, and to-go plates will be provided for those in a hurry. All proceeds will benefit local service projects that Kilgore Lions Club accomplishes in their community and surrounding areas.
