THANK YOU, CAMP BRIGHT BIRD SUPPORTERS!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported Camp Bright Bird along the way. Your generosity makes it possible for us to serve disabled veterans through all-expenses-paid hunting weekends and giving veterans time outdoors, fellowship, and a chance to connect with others who understand.
Marshall Moose Lodge 676 has been our largest local supporter. We’re also grateful to the wonderful ladies of the Mary Marshall D.A.R. Chapter and our local Arby’s.
In the nearby Duck Lake and Springport area, T&N Dairy Cream and Outlaw Customs have stood by us as solid supporters for years.
In Battle Creek, Justice Fence and Duckworth Brother’s Concrete and Construction have given us constant, unwavering support. We’re also deeply thankful to the Parlin family, who lease their land to us for our hunts.
Barry County has been our strongest supporter since Camp Bright Bird began. We make a point of welcoming a strong contingent of disabled veterans who live there because of the support Barry County has shown us. Clark Brothers Building Contractors of Delton has donated funds, meals, and volunteer time for years. Thornapple Valley Church and B Wild’s have also supported us financially. One Dime at a Time has raised money for Camp Bright Bird with the funds that came from returning over 10,000 cans, and we’re deeply grateful for their generosity. Horn Creek Pub 2 and Heroes Pub, also in Delton, have been generous supporters of our mission. The Hastings Elks Lodge 1965 has raised funds for us and donated a breakfast, additional funds, and volunteer help. They’ve also helped connect us with Barry County veterans who could benefit from our services. Hastings is also the home to Heart and Soul Glass Art who has handmade custom gifts for so many of the veterans we serve.
Eaton County is not to be forgotten. Countryside Armory of Bellevue Michigan has generously donated our ammo for years. This year they are donating a r***e to auction off as a fundraiser.
For a handful of at-risk disabled veterans, the connection they’ve found through Camp Bright Bird has been life-saving. Our weekends help veterans step out of isolation and into a welcoming outdoor setting with fellow veterans, dogs, and birds. A kind of avian therapy where they can reconnect and know they don’t have to face life alone.
Our name may be on the hunt, but this is a community effort. We couldn’t do it without all of you. Local businesses, organizations, landowners, volunteers, and friends standing behind our mission.
We’re grateful for every kind of support. We know not everyone is in a position to donate financially, and that’s okay. Liking and sharing this post, following Camp Bright Bird on Facebook, and telling others about our mission all help us reach more people and serve more veterans. We can always use volunteers, too. Every contribution of time, encouragement, or support helps us keep this mission moving.
Thank you for helping us serve those who served us. This is where the healing starts.
