Where are We Wednesday? The Answer: S.A.F.E Place
In 2025, S.A.F.E Place was the Marshall Community Foundation's Impact Grant recipient. The Fund for Marshall and the Youth Advisory Council's Marshall Youth Fund awarded a total of $57,500 to support S.A.F.E Place's goal to expand its services to survivors in the greater-Marshall area. With the Foundation’s support, S.A.F.E Place was able to lease a satellite location in Marshall and help increase their client assistance. S.A.F.E Place was also able to expand its Prevention Education Program, partnering with MPS to provide education to students on intimate partner/domestic violence, s*x trafficking, s*xual assault, stalking, teen dating violence, and to provide licensed counselors with one-on-one support to students. S.A.F.E Place provides all of its services free to survivors.
While the Marshall office has been here for a year, S.A.F.E Place has been helping the community since the 80s. Today, their main shelter has 60 beds for survivors and their children. In 2024, the Marshall Youth Fund gave $24,500 for a new boiler system at the shelter. This allowed the shelter to comfortably serve survivors during the winter months.
The Marshall Community Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to S.A.F.E. Place for serving survivors from their Marshall office for 1 year.
