Traffic accident at Rt 49 and Clarksville Road. Avoid the area to allow emergency responders to provide the care and service required.

05/29/2026

The City of Marshall is aware that some residents may be experiencing discolored water (yellow, brown, or rust-colored).
This was caused by a temporary SCADA system equipment issue that interrupted communication with our wells. When service was restored, multiple wells came online at the same time, creating sudden changes in water flow that stirred up naturally occurring sediment in the pipes.
✅ Good news: The water remains safe to drink and meets all state and federal standards.
What you can do:
• Run cold water for several minutes until it clears
• Avoid doing laundry until the water is clear
• If discoloration continues, wait a bit and try again
What we’re doing:
• Monitoring the system
• Stabilizing water flow
• Flushing hydrants as needed to improve clarity
We understand this is inconvenient and appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue.
📞 If you have concerns, please contact the City of Marshall Water Department.
