Yesterday we presented the Golden Grocery Cart to The First Baptist Church. This year was record breaking of food that came in during our Friendly Competition among the churches. This year the first week we had a tie for first place. It was United Methodist and First Baptist. After that, the rest of the summer United Methodist remained in first place. That was until the last week. That last week, First Baptist brought in 1,006 boxes of mac and cheese. That put them in first place. However, since United Methodist worked so hard, we decided to reward them with a prize too. They received a grocery bag that says "almost winner!" It also had the 2 years they were Champion, 2018 and 2022. First Baptist has won the last 4 years (2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026) In 2017 and 2019 St. Joseph's Church had won. In 2020 and 2021 we did not have the competition due to COVID. All the churches that participated won the gold heart award though for helping fill our shelves and helping those in need in our community! Thank you!
