Blowing snow is reducing visibility to near-whiteout conditions in some areas, particularly rural north-south roads in northern counties. And with frigid temps, road salt will not be effective on snow-packed roads. Take it slow if you must be out.

Conditions as of 5:50 pm via https://www.gettingaroundillinois.com/WinterConditions/index.html.

Please remember your winter safety tips! With all this drifting snow please take a moment to clear any vents and fire hydrants. Stay warm ❄️

Roads are fairly snow-covered but passable. Please use caution. A reminder not to park on main streets where snow plows need to get through, tickets may be issued on snow routes. Here is a good resource if you are needing to travel today: https://www.gettingaroundillinois.com/winterconditions/

⚠️ Roads are terrible ⚠️ If you must drive, please do so with extreme caution. All roads are snow covered with blowing snow.

Who We Are

We are hand selected trained storm spotters, with various backgrounds in the emergency and safety fields. We are completely volunteer, and know the risks we take to provide public safety information to the local public in hopes of helping our local communities become more aware and prepared when it comes to storms and storm related incidents. We are also Ambassadors for Weather Ready Nation, along with being members with CoCoRahs which is a rainfall collection organization.
