Due to an abundance of caution, a concern for everyone's safety, and a healthy respect for this snow storm, we are postponing Kathy Binoniemi's art talk, scheduled for Tuesday evening, March 17th.

We're working on setting up a future date, and we'll keep you posted!

Greetings Art Lovers! We'd like to remind you that Kathy Binoniemi will be presenting an Art Talk on pastels a week from today on Tuesday March 17 at 6:30 at the Peter White Public Library. She will be presenting tools, techniques, and examples that demonstrate the pastel process from start to finish. You’ll discover the rewards and challenges of this art form that, despite its origins in the 16th century, remains a relatively rare medium for artistic expression.
Kathy is a local artist who has been painting exclusively with pastels since discovering the medium about six years ago. Just look at this exquisite pastel landscape that Kathy created. She will inspire you to appreciate this medium and perhaps explore it for your own art. See you next Tuesday!

LSAA ART TALK TUESDAY

John French, Julie Highlen, and Marlene Wood will present an Art Talk about Plein Air Painting this Tuesday Okay, February might not be the best time to head out into the woods with your paintbrush in hand, but let’s get excited about the upcoming summer and the Fresh Coast Plein Air Painting Festival.
Whether you’re an avid plein air artist or wondering about how to get started, join Fresh Coast Plein Air Painting Festival director Marlene Wood, plein air artist Julie Highlen, and aspiring plein air painter John French as they discuss the techniques, challenges, and personal rewards of painting outside in the open air, with its ever-changing light and subjects.
There's time before and after the presentation to connect with friends and fellow artists. Show your support for your art organization!

LSAA ART TALK JANUARY 20

Happy Snowy Day!
It looks like the storm will have passed by tomorrow, so we hope to see you at our January LSAA meeting and Art talk Tuesday January 20 at 6:30 in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Emily Weddle will present an Art Talk on Wrapping Your Arms Around the Intangible: Wrestling the Conceptual into Physical Form. Emily will discuss her creative practice from initial spark to tangible object. She will present examples from three bodies of work: Swept, Second Nature, and Tired of Winning, which focus on the use of symbolism, allusion, and allegory. Join Emily to discover how ideas can be strengthened and reiterated through deliberate choices in mixed media work.

Would you be interested in being an LSAA Board Member? We'll be happy to talk to you about it. Get started by emailing [email protected].
