The 2022 Evergreen Award Winner, Roxanne Daust, understands the importance of community and volunteering and leads by example. She was described as a person who does the work of 2 or 3 people. In her nomination, she was described as undoubtedly the most influential mentor by one of her nominators- providing guidance, motivation, and emotional support. Mentorship isn’t about big and life altering moments- it’s a journey that takes time and consistency. Roxanne, is known to show up for her team each and every day, leading by example, and providing countless opportunities at the table.
Her ‘people focused’ approach to her company, her community, and how she manages, have been instrumental in the reasons she has been nominated for this award. To quote another employee in her nomination, “I can say that from my perspective she seeks to create an environment in which all employees can thrive. She creates a workplace that fosters confidence, and through that strong women emerge. She provides guidance and confidence that allows women at all levels of the organization to realize their capabilities.”
She understands that giving back is an important part of her life.
Daust completed a bachelor's in accounting and information systems at NMU in 1994 and worked her way up from teller to president of Range Bank. Her 2017 appointment as president made her Range Bank's first female chairwoman and chief executive officer in 131 years. She also serves as a member of NMU's Business Advisory Council, which provides guidance, advice and support to the dean to help the college achieve its goals.
