Queen City Seed Library

Queen City Seed Library A free community resource of open pollinated seeds to promote food sovereignty. Find us on the main floor of the Peter White Public Library, Marquette MI.

We request saved seeds are returned for others to grow in future growing seasons. The Queen City Seed Library was established to encourage and ensure we have a population of seeds adapted to and available in our northern climate. The library is located in the old card catalog at the Peter White Public Library. Please check out seeds to plant in the spring, save seeds from a few of the plants and r

eturn the saved seeds for next year. We need your participation to continue. If you have any questions please send us an email. We know there is a gardening and seed saving learning curve so we'd love to connect. In addition to maintaining the physical library, we also host events throughout the year including the Marquette Seed Swap, the Marquette Plant Swap, seed saving educational events, and a harvest potluck.

Hello, Seed Swappers!

For the first time in over a decade of the swap, we have bad weather on our special day. Based on the Peter White Public Library being open, the swap will continue as planned today (the alternative is to cancel due to room availability).

Please do not drive if you do not feel safe! The seed catalogue on the main floor of the library is open all season. You can always reach out to [email protected] with questions about saving seeds and getting your garden started.

Happy growing this season!
