For nearly 140 years, the Club has helped shape winter recreation in the Marquette area, creating a place where skiing, tradition, and community come together while preserving one of the U.P.'s most cherished legacies.

What started as a vision to preserve a special piece of Marquette County has become a campground designed for people who actually want to camp.

Kona Hills Campground was created to provide a back-to-basics camping experience while protecting natural spaces, creating local economic opportunity, and giving the community access to land that was once out of reach.

But the vision doesn't stop there. The team is already planning the next phase of Kona Hills with the development of the Upper Peninsula's first ice park, expanding opportunities for outdoor recreation in Marquette for years to come.

For Rachel Raak, that challenge was finding a way to comfortably wear a winter hat with hearing aids without the constant squealing and feedback. Today, we continue that tradition by celebrating those who share our determination to build meaningful lives in a place where nature, opportunity, and community intersect.
