Upper Peninsula Labor Hall of Fame

You are cordially invited to attend the Reception, Induction Banquet and Ceremony of the Upper Peninsula Labor Hall of Fame on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

The U.P. Labor Hall of Fame was established in 1993 at Northern Michigan University by the Labor Advisory Planning Committee to recognize unionists who have made an outstanding contribution to the cause of worker dignity and workplace fairness. Since then, trade unionists that have made a difference in striving to improve the lives of workers in the U.P. have been selected for induction to the U.P. Labor Hall of Fame.

This year, Tom Hogan, IBEW and Don Maki, AFSCME are being honored for their significant labor contributions by being inducted into the U.P. Labor Hall of Fame. This is a very high honor, and your presence at this celebration is extremely important.

This very special event will take place at the Superior Dome and the Ball Rooms in the Northern Center, Northern Michigan University, 1401 Presque Isle Avenue, Marquette, Michigan.

RECEPTION – Hall of Fame Display, SUPERIOR DOME
5:00 p.m.–5:45 p.m. - Complimentary Hors d’oeuvres, Beer & Wine

INDUCTION BANQUET AND CEREMONY, BALL ROOMS, NORTHERN CENTER
6:00 p.m. - Registration
6:15 p.m. - Buffet Dinner (Cash Bar)
7:00 p.m. - Ceremony

Tickets for this event are $65.00 per person or $520.00 for a table of 8 (eight). Tables of 8 will be reserved by name. Tickets can be purchased by filling out the registration form. Tickets must be purchased by October 24, 2025. Make checks payable to U.P. RLF/Special Events. We hope you can join us for this momentous occasion. This is not a political event, so local unions and other organizations are able to use general treasury money for this event.

● Who actively participated in community service and/or political events

We recognize that there are many activists who have worked hard within their Local Unions to make a difference in the Labor Movement. The U.P. Labor Hall of Fame recognizes those who are outstanding activists who make a difference beyond their Local Union. We know there are individuals deserving of this honor and are hopeful that nominations and supporting information will be submitted for consideration.
Recognition can be made posthumously. We would contact family members to accept the award in memory of the recipient.
