๐ŸšจSEE COMMENTS FOR INFORMATION ON DOGS

This weekend, several deserving dogs will be making the journey from Texas to Michigan in search of a brighter future and forever homes.They will leave on Saturday and arrive on Sunday.

We're looking for foster families to help welcome them and give them a safe place to stay while they wait for adoption. Fostering is one of the most rewarding ways to help a rescue dog.

We're also seeking donations to help offset the $800 transport cost. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps us continue bringing dogs to safety and giving them a second chance.

We know bringing home a rescue dog is exciting, but many adopters are surprised when their new dog doesnโ€™t immediately act โ€œperfectโ€ in the first few days.

Dogs need time to decompress.

Even the sweetest dogs can experience: โ€ข Accidents in the house
โ€ข Nervousness or anxiety
โ€ข Hyperactivity
โ€ข Barking or whining
โ€ข Trouble sleeping
โ€ข Fearfulness or clinginess
โ€ข Excitement around other animals
โ€ข Changes in appetite or behavior

Imagine losing everything familiar overnight and being placed into a completely new environment with new people, smells, sounds, rules, and routines. Thatโ€™s a LOT for a dog.

The โ€œ3-3-3 Ruleโ€ is a great reminder:
๐Ÿถ 3 days to decompress
๐Ÿถ 3 weeks to start learning the routine
๐Ÿถ 3 months to truly feel at home

Many dogs are not showing their true personality during the first week. Patience, structure, consistency, supervision, and routine make a huge difference.

Helpful tips:
โœ” Keep a consistent potty schedule
โœ” Use a kennel or safe space
โœ” Limit overwhelming situations at first
โœ” Slow introductions with other pets
โœ” Reward calm behavior
โœ” Give them time to adjust before expecting perfection

Rescue dogs are not โ€œbroken.โ€ They are adjusting.

Radio is a 3.5-year-old boy who has survived a life no dog should ever have to endure.

For years, he was beaten daily, shot at, and left with a broken leg that never healed properly. He then spent over 2 years sitting in a shelter while nobody gave him a chance.

But somehow, through all the cruelty and heartbreak, Radio still loves everyone he meets.
He is friendly with other dogs, full of life, and wakes up every day happy just to be loved. Watching him run, play, and enjoy freedom is nothing short of incredible.

Radio is currently heartworm positive, but that does not stop him from deserving a family who will finally show him what forever feels like.

After everything he has survived, Radio deserves his happy ending. โค๏ธ
