Preserving history means passing it on.

In 1988, the Burlington County Times profiled Edna Wirth, Evesham’s “unofficial historian,” and her years of research into local history. She believed that history should be shared with children:

“I want it to be in the schools so the children can have it.”

That vision continues today through EHS’s 2nd Grade Trunk Shows, bringing local history, photographs and artifacts directly into Evesham classrooms.

As we celebrate 50 years of the Evesham Historical Society, we’re also celebrating the people who helped make sure Evesham’s history would be passed on.
