Congratulations to Julian, our 7th grade winner of this year’s Chalk Event for Alcohol Awareness Month!

Julian’s artwork highlighted why he chooses to stay above the influence, and his creative message earned him a Wawa gift card. We’re grateful to all of the students who participated and shared their perspectives through chalk art!

A big thank you to our high school panelists, middle school students, and families for joining us for our town hall discussion on how families and communities can work together to reduce youth alcohol use.

Everyone brought something valuable to the conversation, and we appreciate those who were willing to share their experiences, perspectives, and ideas. These conversations are an important part of building a healthier, safer community for our youth.

Riverfront Coalition collaborated with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Burlington County Human Services to provide the “Don’t Get Vaped In” program to 7th and 8th grade health classes at Burlington City High School.

This important program helps educate students about the risks and consequences associated with va**ng, substance use, and making healthy choices. We appreciate the opportunity to engage with students and empower them with prevention education and real-life information that can make a lasting impact. Thank you to Burlington City High School for welcoming us and supporting youth prevention efforts in our community!

Today 7th and 8th grade health classes at Burlington City High School learned about anxiety and healthy coping skills. Students worked together to create an A to Z list of positive ways to handle stress and support mental wellness.

Learning healthy coping skills early is an important part of substance abuse prevention. These conversations help students recognize that there are healthy ways to handle difficult feelings and challenges without using substances 💚

Thank you to Burlington City High School for having us for Alcohol Awareness Month!

During lunch periods, we tabled with an interactive spin-the-wheel activity where students answered alcohol-related questions for a chance to win prizes. It was great to see so many students get involved and test their knowledge.

We also moved health classes outside for a chalk activity. Using the theme “We stay above the influence because…,” students shared drawings and messages about their goals and how substance use could impact them.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with students and be part of these important conversations.
