Green Marlborough works with community stakeholders since 2006 to advocate for local environmental interests that make a difference in our community. Green Marlborough initiates, incubates, and implements community sustainability programs. Projects since 2007 include: 2006 Energy and Environmental Inventory, 2007 Energy and Environmental Task Force, 2008 Sustainability Action Plan, Sustainability
Task Force, annual Earth Day Fairs, Green Marlborough TV show, Stream Teams, Free Giveaways (reusable shopping bags, CFLs, low-flow water kits), Home Energy Efficiency Team, Walks with Green Marlborough, Solar and Energy Star Tour, Bike Marlborough, Green Marlborough Newsletter, Grants to support LED traffic light retrofits, and presentations and exhibits at local and regional events and organizations. Our goals are to strengthen local community and environmental efforts and engage people in projects and events, to educate stakeholders about making environmentally sustainable choices, and to advocate for community efforts that maintain and promote a healthier environment for the people who live and work in Marlborough.
