Last Saturday, Risen had the privilege to travel to Danbury, CT for a day long seminar. We learned many things but one of the most valuable was the parable of the palm tree. In Psalm 92:12 it says “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.” The spectacular thing about palm trees is that they are so strong that they can withstand any storm. Take Florida for example, their hurricanes are crazy, but the palm trees always remain. This is because a palm tree gets its strength from its roots. It embeds itself in the ground and develops a firm and permanent stand underground. They have roots. A palm tree grows evenly above as it does below - allowing it to stand firm and strong. We are like palm trees. We need roots in order to grow. Establishing roots is the foundation to creating a strong and firm relationship with Jesus. We must grow internally spiritually by reading the Bible, praying, fasting while growing externally. Without those inner roots, without Jesus, we do not stand. We have no firm ground. The more we grow, the more we serve and the more we crave God’s love. We are like palm trees. With God in our lives (the roots), we will grow and be able to conquer any storm. As the preacher stated “Who does not live to serve, does not serve to live.” If we don't have roots, we will never stand. Psalm 92:13 “they will flourish in the courts our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.” When we follow God, God will continue blessing us even in old age. God will always take care of his followers, he will be our Provider, our Miracle Worker, our Savior. Our palm trees will continue growing, fruits will always multiply. Like a palm tree, God will never let us fall, no matter how much we bend, even if we are 1 centimeter from falling to the ground, we will always bounce back up regardless how hard the storm may be, when we have roots, we have GOD. Can I get an Amen for this beautiful teaching?? Thank you God for the amazing opportunity we had to educate ourselves in your Holy Name this past week.🙏🏽🤍
