Markesan Youth Wrestling Club is putting together a float for June Dairy Day’s Parade. If you are interested in having your child walk with us and hand out candy along the parade route to represent Markesan Wrestling, please let us know.

With 2026 rosters being released today, we would like to congratulate our Hornet Wrestlers on earning Academic and Character awards for the 2025-26 season!

-Gavin Slark earned WWA 1st Team Academic All-State Honors for the 2027 graduation class--his third such award!
-Sebastian Herrera was named 2nd Team Academic All-State for the 2029 graduation class by the WWA!
-The following Markesan Wrestlers were named Honorable Mention Academic All-State by the WWA for their respective graduation classes: Cooper Schmidt, Mario Herrera, Braelynn Goehring, and Brinley Moll!
-The following Markesan Wrestlers earned NWCA High School Scholar All-American Honors as well: Gavin Slark, Jabin Lawson, Braden Burk, Cooper Schmidt, Sebastian Herrera, Mario Herrera, Evan Dahlke, Memphis Castillo, Larry Rohan, Brinley Moll, Braelynn Goehring, and Aidan Goehring!
-Jabin Lawson, Memphis Castillo, Kayden Vannatta, and Gavin Slark earned NWCA High School Character and Leadership All-American Awards as well!

To qualify for WWA Academic All-State, students must have a 3.7+ Cumulative GPA, and earn a varsity letter for the season. Their season results are then taken into consideration for team selection.

To qualify for NWCA Academic All-American status, wrestlers must have a 3.5+ cumulative or fall semester GPA, and earn a varsity letter for the season.

NWCA Character and Leadership Awards are applied for, and are based on aspects of leadership and high character demonstrated throughout the season.

We are not only proud of these wrestlers' incredible abilities and toughness, but also of what they do in the classroom and community!

Congratulations to our youth wrestlers Charlotte & Beckett on making the podium at 2026 WWF youth Folkstyle State this past weekend! Youth folkstyle state is an incredibly competitive tournament with youth wrestlers from all of WI, programs large and small, come together to try to make the top 6 in each age and weight class. We are proud of all of our youth wrestlers that competed. Charlotte took 5th place and Beckett took 2nd place. We are excited to see what the future holds for both of you!

A BIG THANK YOU!! To Hornet Nation for sending our youth wrestlers off Hornet style today! Wishing Beckett and Oliver good luck as they compete Friday morning starting at 9am. And good luck to our Lady Hornets Emma, Charlotte, & Shiloh as they compete Sunday. Leave it all on the mat!

Attention Markesan Hornet Wrestling fans and Hornet Nation, the youth state qualifiers will be honored with a fire truck sendoff today at approximately 2:15 p.m. They will start at the fire station, make the loop downtown, pass by the elementary school, and conclude in front of the middle school. We wish Beckett, Emma, and Charlotte success in their upcoming competition, and acknowledge the pride Hornet Nation takes in their accomplishments.

Youth state wrestling apparel orders that were set for coach pick up on Wednesday 3/25 will be delivered to the High School office Thursday morning 3/26 for pick up! Please pick your orders up at the HIGH school office!
