MTAR Transport, 5/26/27–Dogs Delivered!

Our Transport north has such a good story! MTAR volunteers transported 7 dogs and puppies to our sister rescue!

One of them deserves special recognition! Henry’s human momma passed away on May 12, 2026. Henry, Lucy and Toby were left orphaned. We knew their human momma who lived in the Black Oak Community. Henry is a black lab/terrier mix, the kind that fill shelters everywhere and finding him a home was going to be an uphill battle. Many dogs like Henry are euthanized in shelters every day. This is why MTAR is a rescue, to save babies like him.

We were fortunate that these loved dogs had a good home and people who cared for them. All their temperaments were amazing, but because their mom was not well, they were behind on important vaccinations, so we vetted them…got their health exams and certificates for travel…

Our sister rescue stepped up and accepted them, along with a momma and 3 puppies that were not in good shape—so, so many fleas on those tiny puppies that they started to lose their fur.

Today, as we started the drive home to Arkansas, we knew all of these babies are blessed, with much brighter futures.

And we are most proud for Henry, who showed everyone today how vibrant and loving he is, thanks to his Arkansas family. Ms. Beverly is smiling from Heaven….we know it.

Thank you to all who helped make this transport happen. We have joy-filled tears and full hearts for our long drive home!

Our newest crash kitty….Skylar.

Skylar was hit by a vehicle and taken in by a Good Samaritan. The vehicle did a lot of damage:

Closed head injury
Nasal passage damage
Ear abrasions
Degloved chin/mouth
Abdominal hernia
Broken front paw

All this on a kitten body….

We splinted the foot and leg so it has a chance to heal and are keeping that chin/mouth skin moist so it will heal.

The hernia will be repaired when she is spayed….

The kitten is very sweet but we have separated from the others so it has limited movement. The splint made with popsicle sticks, gauze and adhesive bandage is holding well since we did a sling around the neck….

Haven’t heard any meowing but the expression says it all….

Prayers for Skylar!

Sad Update for Leah Lepanto, the Lepanto crash kitty!

This morning, after several x-rays and a very detailed exam, Dr. Baker informed us that little Leah Lepanto had more serious injuries that we had hoped. The broken neck, the extensive crushing damage to her trachea, impact on the esophagus, the eye socket completely crushed and other brain damage were too much for this baby. This baby literally gasped for air to breathe…We firmly believe that there was no way for this baby to live with so much suffering and no hope for recovery.

So, MTAR let this baby cross the Rainbow Bridge….a decision we made because we know our team at Wynne Animal Rescue Clinic considered every injury, possible treatment, this baby’s condition, and realistic prognosis. This baby just went to sleep peacefully this morning.

Sweet Leah Lepanto, your pain has ended with a Rainbow Bridge. You touched the hearts of so many in the last 48 hours…You were loved.

Special thanks again to Leah and Haley at the Jordan’s Citgo, Dorothy Collins and Wynne Animal Rescue Vet Clinic…there would have been zero chance without you!

Please never leave an animal on the side of the road or in the road. Always stop and check—-you could save a life.

Our hearts are broken this morning! Bitty McFall passed away last night after the “Hail Mary” surgery at Wynne Animal Rescue Vet Clinic yesterday.

Bitty had deformed legs from a birth injury. Although he could scoot, The deformity made it impossible for him to avoid infection and more damage to his back legs and tail.

MTAR is so thankful for Wynne Animal Rescue Vet Clinic staff, especially DJ and Dr. Baker. In particular, DJ took care of this baby throughout the night, so little Bitty had every chance and the best care possible. This is why we love and support Wynne Animal Rescue Vet Clinic-every single person genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond.

Rest in Peace, Bitty McFall! Heaven must be happy to have you run and play! Till we see you again, sweet kitty…

Tough, but Thankful, MTAR Vet Run Today!

MTAR is blessed that we can take in, vet, treat, and care for severely injured and cruelty animals. Today, alone, MTAR has 4 kittens with vet needs.

First, Leah Lepanto is yesterday’s vehicle injury kitten with extensive head and upper body damage. She can’t close her mouth and she appears to have an injury to her trachea. She was is in so much pain that she had to be sedated for x-rays. She peed but has not taken in food or liquid yet.

Second, Custer is a sweet medium hair tabby that has a very deep head injury—-all the way to the skull…you can see the bone in the pic. A Good Samaritan saved him from a park in Jonesboro. Great antibiotics and heavy duty wound management has been prescribed by our vet.

Third, Trappola is a solid gray kitten with an injury from a nasty trap (yep, metal jaw-like trap) which tripped and crushed a front paw. You can’t even identify the folded tissues that resembled a foot anymore. Trappola undergoes an amputation of his leg today. He has been on pain meds and antibiotics for awhile now.

Finally and the most difficult case, Bitty McFall was born with his back legs stuck in the birth canal. His sibling delivered fine but complications caused this deformity. The legs are twisted individually and then twisted together with his tail, like a bread twist-tie. When he pees and poops, it ulcerated his skin and, without surgical intervention, he won’t make it. So, sadly, to attempt to save this little loud gold nugget of a tabby, the vet will remove his legs at the hips and he will require a device for mobility. This baby has a loud meow, playful spirit, and purrs all the time.

MTAR takes these type kittens plus the blind, crippled and mistreated into the rescue so they can have a chance. We do it for dogs too,—sweet Rebecca had her shredded feet rebuilt and now runs and plays, with a joyful spirit! We see the difference!

Thank you for supporting our work and dedication to them. Without your shares, encouragement, and community support, these babies would not have possibilities and futures!

Here are some our kittens at Wynne Animal Rescue Vet Clinic today! We also could not do any of this without our fabulous vet team at WAR Vet Clinic!

Urgent! Dumped puppies!

Anyone see or pick up any puppies close to the intersection of Highway 308 and Highway 135…the Spear Lake area? (Spear Lake is between the Highway 135 exit off I-555 and Lepanto.).

Dumping was within the last 3-4 days!

MTAR received a call about dumped pups there from an eyewitness to the dumping! Even got the vehicle make, license plate and description of the dumpers!

MTAR reached out to an animal cruelty investigator and has been looking for the puppies.

We need your help in identifying the puppies and getting info about them!

If you know someone who dumped puppies, please private message MTAR!

If you saw anything or picked up a puppy from there, please private message MTAR!

Please share! Please help
