Investing in the future of those who serve 💚🐻

The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Foundation was proud to award $1,000 scholarships to Cody Poor and Jessie Jay as they pursue careers in the first responder field. In this video, Sheriff Jeremy Briese shares a few words with both recipients—recognizing their dedication, heart, and commitment to serving others.

We’re grateful to stand alongside our Sheriff’s Office, and community in supporting the next generation of first responders. Congratulations, Cody and Jessie—we’re rooting for you every step of the way.

Community taking care of community 🤍

The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Foundation board members were proud to team up with our incredible Senior Brown Bag volunteers to give back in such a meaningful way. Each quarter, we pack and distribute extra shelf-stable foods—helping keep our seniors’ pantries stocked and easing a little bit of the load.

Grateful to stand alongside the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office, the dedicated Brown Bag volunteers, and our Foundation board members who continue to show up and serve with heart—including Sheriff Jeremy Briese, Captain Wes Smith, and Lieutenant Linda Williams.

More than just a box of food—it’s care, connection, and community at its best.

Mariposa truly showed up in a big way last night.

The 4th Annual Mariposa County Sheriff’s Foundation Gala was an incredible evening, and our hearts are full seeing the way this community continues to step up in support of the men and women who serve and protect us every day. Because of your generosity, we were able to raise significant funds that will go right back into supporting the Sheriff’s Office and programs that help strengthen our community.

It was also an honor to recognize and present service and prestigious awards to five outstanding members of the Sheriff’s Office. Taking a moment to celebrate the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment of those who serve our community made the evening even more meaningful.

A special thank you to our amazing business sponsors, and especially to our Four Star Sponsors, MACT Health Board and Frank Rose Construction, for their generous support and continued commitment to Mariposa County.

And to our Sheriff’s Foundation board, your dedication, time, and heart truly shined last night. The countless hours that go into planning an event like this don’t go unnoticed, and this evening was a reflection of the passion you all have for this foundation and this community.

Last night was a beautiful reminder that when Mariposa comes together, it’s something really special. We are so grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply for one another.

On National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we pause to say thank you.
Thank you to the men and women of the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office who show up every day with courage, integrity, and a deep commitment to our community. You protect our families, serve our neighbors, and stand ready in moments most of us never see, often putting others before yourselves.

The Sheriff’s Foundation is proud to support those who serve, and we are truly grateful for the sacrifices made by our deputies, staff, and their families. Our community is safer because of you, and we do not take that for granted.

🐎🌹 Just a Reminder… Gala Tickets Are On Sale! 🌹🐎

The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Foundation Gala is right around the corner, and tickets are still available! We have three ticket options to choose from, making it easy to join us for this special night.

This year’s theme is Kentucky Derby, so start planning those derby hats, bold bowties, and classic southern style. It’s going to be an unforgettable evening in support of our local Sheriff’s Office and community.

This week, we were honored to come together to support the Senior Brown Bag Program, a program that truly reflects the heart of our community. With help from the Sheriff’s Office and a dedicated group of volunteers, we were able to provide food and care to our local seniors who need it most.

The Senior Brown Bag Program is operated through Health and Human Services out of the Senior Center, with food supplied by the Merced Food Bank. Twice each month, enough food is provided for up to 100 low-income senior households, helping bring both nourishment and peace of mind. Seniors who qualify can sign up at the Senior Center.

Since November 2024, the Sheriff’s Foundation has coordinated the Brown Bag volunteers, and this program thrives because of their commitment. When the food truck arrives, volunteers bag and distribute food to approximately 85 seniors every other week, while Senior Center staff ensure additional bags are delivered to North County seniors who are unable to attend.

A heartfelt thank you to Lori, the Sheriff’s Foundation Secretary, who leads this program with compassion, dedication, and so much heart. Along with our volunteers and partners, she helps make sure our seniors feel seen, supported, and cared for, which is what community is all about.
