And that's a wrap!

We just arrived back at Cornerstone! We are so glad to be home after our adventure of delayed flights and long layovers. It wasn't all travel mishaps, however, there was one event we would like to highlight: Kim was able to befriend a very nice blind lady and help her board the plane. Even as we return, we understand that our mission work is not completed; we've got work to do.

All things considered, it was a great trip. Everyone made it home safely—except for Jeff and Jayne who will be spending two more weeks in Europe enjoying the sights.

Thank you for walking through this with us. Your prayers have sustained us when discouragement began to seep in.

May the mission work never cease until all know the name of Jesus Christ.

God bless,

Auf wiedersehen Deutschland!!

Today marked our last day in the beautiful country of Germany! Our flight leaves tomorrow morning and we hope to be home around 9 PM. We ask that you pray for safe travels and smooth skies.

Today we met with Miriam Hesse who helped us to review our time in Germany---what went well, what we learned about God, and how we saw God at work in Berlin. Most importantly, we discussed how to carry these mission-minded habits home with us. Because here's the truth: Americans need Jesus just as much as Germans do.

And here's the deal: you don't need to be a missionary to share the Good News. Every Christian is called to speak up for Christ and share this beautiful message of reconciliation.

So---go tell people about Jesus!

"And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,"

- Acts 17:26-27

God is bringing the nations to us. He is on mission---so let's be on mission with him.

And we're back to D**g Xuan!!

Most of our team was able to return to the D**g Xuan Center for a morning of shopping and hopeful spiritual conversation. Honestly, ministry in this bazaar has been quite discouraging. There is an air of spiritual darkness about the place and it is very difficult to engage the shop owners in any spiritual conversation. At the very least, however, we were able to fill this market with prayer for a few hours.

This afternoon, we met with Rachel, the founder and leader of Alabaster Jar---an organization ministering to the thousands of men and women trapped in prostitution throughout Berlin. This evening, most of the group joined their outreach team as prayer warriors, supporting the Alabaster Jar team while they ministered to women working in active prostitution.

Please pray that those trapped in sex-trafficking will be freed from this oppressive lifestyle and from their oppressors. Pray also that they will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and will be freed from their sin. Pray a blessing over Rachel and the rest of Alabaster Jar team---that the light of Christ will be evident in their work.

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound."

- Isaiah 61:1

Sometimes plans change...

Today we were hoping to return to the D**g Xuan market and begin witnessing to the people, using the methods we learned from our friend Fred. Hoever, yesterday we leard the market is closed on Tuesdays so we had to shift our approach.

We chose to spend more time with Eric and Miriam Hesse, learning much from them. Afterwards, some of the group joined YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in sharing the gospel in another Berlin park.

Here's the best part---three people decided to give their life to Christ! Praise Jesus!!

What a fantastic reminder that God's plans are much higher than our own. He wanted us to be at Leopoldplatz Park---to be a part of that ministry and witness how the Spirit is working in Berlin.

Please be praying for those three new believers. Pray that the new seeds of faith won't be choked out, but will grow into a strong, mature faith.

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."

Vietnam, Turkey, and Afghanistan---in less than two hours!

This morning we met our friend, Fred, outside the D**g Xuan Asian market. This market is nothing like your average farmer's market. It covers 165,000 square meters and hosts over 400 individual vendors from diverse religious backgrounds: we met Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists.

Fred told us that he has been visiting this market for over a decade trying to share his faith with these lost souls. Then we walked through the market learning even more about evangelism in an Eastern context. After lunch he took us to the top of a hill that overlooked the city and together we prayed for the people of Berlin---especially the immigrant population.

Please pray that Fred's ministry yields a rich harvest and that many Asians in Berlin will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'"

We have some bad news and some good news

The bad news: Yesterday marked the last day of ministry in Mauer Park. We have developed a great heart for this park and the people within it, but it is time to move on.

The good news: Our last day was one of the most encouraging days we have had while in Berlin. No decisions were made to repent and follow Jesus, but we were able to connect two people with Eric and Miriam Hesse and many others were open to learning more about the Gospel. May the Lord use the Berlin church to accomplish his ends.

Today we visit the D**g Xuan Asian market where we will learn about ministering to Muslims and followers of other Eastern religions. Tomorrow we will return and begin to take an active part in the missions work there.

Please continue to pray for health, strength, and endurance of the team. Also pray for the souls we have come in contact with. Pray that the seeds we planted will grow into true faith.

We love you guys and are excited to tell you more about the individual lives we came in contact with. God is certainly at work in Berlin.

"I believe in me."

It is not only a lack of faith that undermines belief in God; atheists can also be created by misplaced faith. Everyone trusts something: a pastor, a politician, a podcaster, a professor, a parent...but most often, it's ourselves. We are our own god.

We witnessed this ideology at work today.

This afternoon there was a very large music festival occurring in Mauer Park. The large crowds created the perfect environment for evangelism. We spoke to many lost souls and were able to share the Gospel with several Germans.

The team intends to be in Mauer tomorrow afternoon after church. Please pray that the Germans have open ears and that we have the courage and endurance to tell them what they need to hear.

"This is what the Lord says: 'Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him."

What a great first day of Mauer Park ministry!! God is good!!

Our music brought smiles to the faces of the Germans and our message prompted them to dig deeper into the topic of "spirituality."

Some of the people that we spoke to identified as Christ-followers; others as agnostic. Regardless of their spiritual background each of these park-goers was loved on by a true Christian and several were presented with the Gospel.

Seeds were planted, prayers were offered, and now we hope that the Holy Spirit begins to work in the hearts of these Germans. He will not let our efforts go in vain.

Tomorrow we will be working in the park all day. Please pray for the courage to approach the strangers around us and pray that we are given the words to say. May God use us to accomplish his ends.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

"May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us,
that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth.
Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!
The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear him."

Psalm 67

This morning our team shepherd, Jeff Olson, led us through this passage. Here the psalmist presents two primary desires: that God blesses us and is given great glory. This trip we have certainly seen this first aspect of God's grace; we have witnessed prayers answered, protection extended, and problems avoided.

As we go into our second day of ministry we ask that you pray especially for the second of the psalmist's concerns: the glory of God. Pray that the Father is glorified by our thoughts, words, and deeds. Pray that the Holy Spirit uses our ministry of music and message to stir the hearts of other German believers and encourage them to glorify God themselves. Lastly, pray for the German unbeliever. Pray that his eyes are opened and that he turns away from his sin and towards the cross of Jesus Christ for the glory of God and the demonstration of his goodness.

May God bless us, and through us, bless the nations.

We made it!!!

We’ve arrived in Germany with relatively few hiccups (we almost lost our guest guitarist Jeff Boesel to a delayed flight, but nothing could keep him away from the mission!). Thank you all for your prayers of safety over our travels.

We landed in Berlin at 7 AM and spent the day taking in the culturally pivotal sites—walking through the iconic Brandenburg Gate, visiting the Holocaust Memorial, and exploring the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.

Tomorrow begins our ministry in the park—not with guitars and songs, but with clasped hands and quiet prayers. We will walk through the park and pray for the people there and those who will gather on Friday. If the Spirit leads, we may even engage in conversations with Germans there. But first, we pray.

Please join us in praying that hearts will be open and souls fertile for the seeds of the Gospel!
