Kiwanis—along with the Marion Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and Marion County Historical Society—is proud to be part of the team that brought the “Capture the Moment” History Dinner back as an anchor event for America250-Marion! Funded by a Marion Community Foundation grant, it was an evening filled with positivity and energy. Special thanks to our wonderful presenters, emcee Dean Jacob, Videographer John Mullins, the event committee, an awesome audience and all those involved. Marion is a GREAT place to live! Thanks to Anissa Barkley of Girl Scouts of Ohio Heartland Marion Service Center for sharing all the wonderful leadership and growth opportunities that the organization provides for girls. Girl Scouts offers a leadership development program for girls (grades K–12) focused on building courage, confidence, and character through hands-on activities. Key offerings include STEM education, outdoor adventures (camping, hiking), entrepreneurship (cookie program), community service, and life skills. Great presentation!

Stories of Marion's past and present will be featured at the Capture the Moment event on Thursday, May 21, at Tri Rivers Career Center, 2222 Marion-Mt. Gilead Road.

Hosted by Marion Noon Kiwanis and emceed by Dean Jacob, this event features the following presenters: John Buck, Ryan McCall, Howie Smith & Sarah Rassell, Lowell Thurston, and Lora Troutman.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. A catered meal is included. Tickets are $15 each and available at the Marion County Historical Society, 169 E. Center St., (cash, check, or card) or Marion Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, 198 W. Center St. (cash or check). Make checks payable to Marion Noon Kiwanis.

The history dinner is among the America 250 Marion anchor events funded by the Marion Community Foundation.
