Trail Etiquitte is important. I would add three things:
1. Walkers stay right on the greenway.
2. Cyclists call out "On your left" when passing walkers.
3. Cyclists keep you speed under control.

Relo is complete on the Kitsuma Trail.

Relo is complete on the Kitsuma Trail.

The new Kitsuma climb re-route is officially open. This newly constructed segment is approximately 0.3 miles in length and was designed to reflect the character and experience of the original trail.

Contractors are currently on site decommissioning the old Kitsuma climb. Please do not enter this area while work is underway. In addition, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) continues to conduct Helene-related landslide repairs nearby. Please use caution when traveling through the area and be mindful of crews and equipment.

As with any new trail construction, the surface may feel soft at first. With use, the trail will compact and firm up over time. With rain in the forecast early next week, we encourage riders and hikers to help pack in the tread over the next few days.

This work has been made possible through G5’s partnership with the United States Forest Service as part of ongoing Helene recovery efforts. Together, this collaboration is supporting critical infrastructure repairs and helping restore access to the trails we all love. From storm to strength - rebuilding together.
