After a year of fighting, and I mean fighting, to establish recovery as an option for those suffering from addiction in southwest Virginia, Juli and I are considering "throwing in the towel." The culture of this area isn't ready, and our strength, mental health, and physical health are more important to us right now.

If you are a bible person, consider the passage about casting pearls before swine. A local farmer told me if your crops aren't growing, you may just have bad dirt. We're up against a society that cannot comprehend what recovery is, how it works, and the tangible and intangible benefits to the economy and long term economic development.

Were tired, no exhausted. We recently lost our lease on our building and although there are plenty of vacant commercial spaces, no one will rent to us, because of the type of work we do. We're probably going to cut our losses and move on.

If you have a word of encouragement, please leave one...we can use it today.

Reminder....today is moving day. We're already here getting stuff packed up. We're gathering today around 12:30ish to take a group photo and pack the furniture on the trailer. Pizza will be invited today too.

If you have a place for us to store furniture for two weeks we'd appreciate a shout out....
