Another wonderful Family Dinner Night at Hope House! 💜

One of the highlights of our evening was continuing our Caught Being Kind tradition and celebrating this week's recipient, Jayla Moore! 🎉👏

The ladies shared so many reasons why Jayla was nominated. Her warm smile, thoughtful and encouraging words, dedication to her work, and commitment to helping create a positive atmosphere in the house were mentioned again and again. Most importantly, her dedication to her recovery continues to inspire those around her.

It was a blessing to enjoy an amazing meal together, reflect on the positive impact we each have on one another, and celebrate the growth, strength, and character that recovery makes possible.

Congratulations, Jayla! We are proud of you and grateful for the light you bring to our Hope House family. 💕✨

Thanks to Grant County Kindness for our surprise tonight!

💻 COMMUNITY NEED 💻
Hope House is currently in need of 2 desktop computers — one for our men’s house and one for our women’s house.
Our residents rely on computer access daily to: ✔ Apply for jobs
✔ Complete health benefit applications
✔ Attend Zoom meetings with service providers
✔ Print important documents
✔ Continue building stability in recovery
Since opening in 2020, we’ve been using the same computer, and it has become very slow and unreliable. Having updated computers onsite would make a huge difference for the men and women we serve.
If you feel led to donate a desktop computer or help us purchase one, please contact me directly:
📞 Tia Brewer — 765-506-1482
Tax-deductible donations can also be made: 💵 CashApp: $hopehousemarion
📬 Mail: PO Box 1029, Marion, IN 46952
Thank you for supporting recovery, rebuilding lives, and giving people the tools they need to move forward. ❤️

Today I celebrate 9 years sober — but more importantly, 9 years in recovery.

People often use those words interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.

Sobriety is not using drugs or alcohol.
Recovery is rebuilding a life.

Sobriety removed the substances.
Recovery removed the chaos.

Nine years ago, I was freed from the grip of substance use disorder by the power of the Holy Spirit and the unwavering love of God. Embracing Him as the solution to my disease gave me the freedom to build a life in recovery.

Recovery has meant healing, accountability, growth, humility, honesty, connection, and learning how to live without needing to escape life.

I am incredibly grateful for my children, my family, and the few faithful friends who never gave up hope on me — even when I had given up on myself.

It hasn’t been perfect, easy, or painless — but it has been worth it.

“Sobriety gave me a chance. Recovery gave me a life.”

Grateful beyond words for these last 9 years. One day at a time. Tia B. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice purchased freedoms many of us take for granted every day.
Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to reflect with gratitude, humility, and respect for those who never made it home.
May we live in a way that honors their legacy. 🇺🇸❤️

Tonight, the Hope House ladies started a beautiful new tradition on Family Dinner Night… 💜
✨ Caught Being Kind ✨
This new tradition is a way for the ladies to intentionally practice kindness, courtesy, respect, and care for one another. Each Thursday, residents will anonymously nominate a fellow house member and share why they chose them. Together, we read the nominations aloud and celebrate the many thoughtful things these women do every single day — not because they have to, but because they genuinely care for one another. 🫶
The resident with the most nominations receives a fun little treat, but the real reward is recognizing the heart, growth, and community being built inside these walls every day.
Congratulations to Deidre Price for being our very first Caught Being Kind recipient! 🎉👏 We are so proud of you and grateful for the positivity you bring to the house.
This is what recovery community looks like. 💕

🌟 Big News from Hope House Marion! 🌟
We’re excited to share that our two properties previously used as the women’s Hope House have been sold to one of our very own graduates and dedicated leaders, Jimmy Moore! 🎉
This is more than a transition—it’s a powerful testament to lives transformed and leaders raised up through recovery. Stay tuned for updates on Jimmy’s vision and future plans for these properties!
As we move forward:
🏡 Our women’s Hope House is now located in our beautiful home at 316 W. 4th St.
🏡 Our men’s Hope House continues strong at 1002 W. 4th St.
When Hope House opened six years ago, there was only one other men’s recovery home in Grant County, and no options available for women. Today, there are many options available for both men and women—an incredible shift that reflects growth, hope, and reduced stigma in our community.
Because of this progress, we’ve prayerfully adapted, allowing our leadership to go deeper into our Christ-centered mission of serving those in recovery. We’re especially grateful to see a Hope House graduate and local business owner stepping up to expand housing opportunities for others on this recovery journey.
A VERY special thank-you to Shannon Decker-Young for your time and talents making this sale possible!
Recovery is possible—and community makes it stronger. 💙

Update:
Thank you for the incredible outpouring of offers to help! We are so grateful for our community! 🥰
We have a male resident who just got hired at Dunham's Distribution whose only shoes are literally falling apart. Anyone have size 13 gently used boots (not steel toe) or tennis shoes?
