THE SILENT SUMMONS
A member of a certain Lodge, who previously attended meetings regularly, stopped going. After a few months, the Worshipful Master decided to visit him. It was a chilly evening, and the Worshipful Master found his brother at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire.
Guessing the reason for the Worshipful Master's visit, the brother welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited. The Worshipful Master made himself comfortable, but said nothing.

In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After several minutes, the Worshipful Master took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth, all alone. Then he sat back in his chair, still silent.

His host watched all of this in quiet contemplation. As the one, lone ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow, and its fire was no more. Soon, it was cold and dead.

Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The Worshipful Master glanced at his watch and chose this time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember, and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately, it began to glow once more, with all the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.

As the Worshipful Master reached the door to leave, his host said, with a tear running down his cheek, "Thank you so much for your fiery summons, my brother. I'll be back in our Lodge next meeting."

🔵✨ FEBRUARY 22 — INTERNATIONAL FREEMASON DAY ✨🔵

Today, across continents, languages, and jurisdictions…
Brethren pause to recognize something bigger than themselves.

February 22nd was chosen to honour the birthday of Brother George Washington — a man who embodied leadership, discipline, and devotion to principle. 🇺🇸🗽

In 1995, during a meeting of Grand Masters from North America in Washington, D.C., this day was formally recognized as International Freemason Day — a moment for Masons worldwide to reflect on who we are… and what we are building.

But this day is not about one man.
It is about a living tradition.

It is about:
🔹 Freedom
🔹 Equality
🔹 Fraternity
🔹 Integrity
🔹 Service

It is about the quiet charity that rarely makes headlines.
The mentorship that shapes young men.
The hand extended when a Brother falls.

Freemasonry has stood through revolutions, wars, cultural shifts, and criticism — because its foundation isn’t political. It isn’t trendy.

It’s built on character.

Whether you meet in Canada 🇨🇦, the United States 🇺🇸, Mexico 🇲🇽, Brazil 🇧🇷, or anywhere else in the world — today reminds us:

We are stewards of something ancient.
And we are builders of something future.

So stand tall today, Brother.
Wear the Square and Compasses with humility.
And remember… the Craft endures because good men choose to uphold it.

Happy International Freemason Day. 🔵⚒️✨

Martin Luther King Jr. & Freemasonry — A Matter of Truth and Respect
MLK Day 2026

Martin Luther King Jr. was not a Freemason — and that truth matters just as much as the connection he carried.

Dr. King came from deep Masonic roots. His father, Martin Luther King Sr., and his grandfather were both Freemasons, firmly within the Prince Hall Freemasonry in Atlanta. Masonic halls were familiar spaces to him — places of order, discipline, fellowship, and moral discussion.

Though he never formally joined the Craft, Dr. King was often welcomed in Masonic lodges. Why?
Because the principles he preached were the same ones Masons are charged to live by:

Brotherhood over division

Equality over privilege

Justice tempered with mercy

Human dignity above all else

Historical accounts suggest that arrangements were being made for Dr. King to become a Freemason shortly before his assassination in 1968. History intervened. The initiation never happened.

But here’s the important part — membership was never the point.

Dr. King lived the ideals many Masons work a lifetime to apply. He practiced them publicly, under pressure, at great personal cost. Whether inside the lodge or standing in the streets, his labor was moral labor — the hardest kind.

On this MLK Day, we honour the man as he was.
No embellishment. No false claims. Just truth, respect, and recognition.

Not every builder wears an apron —
but every great builder leaves a mark.

The primary lesson of the Tesselated Floor is not just that good and evil exist, but how we should walk among them.

Just as the floor is level, a Mason is taught to remain level-headed regardless of whether they are currently standing on a "black" or "white" square of fate.

Without the black squares, the white squares would have no definition. We cannot truly appreciate the "good" in our lives without having experienced the "evil" or the difficult.

Surrounding the pavement is often the Indented Tessel, a multicolored border. This represents the various blessings and comforts that surround us, reminding us that even in a world of dualities, there is a divine symmetry and protection.

The Mosaic Pavement teaches us that while we cannot control the "color" of the square we find ourselves on today, we can control the steadiness of our step as we walk across them. It encourages a life of moderation, where one is neither over.. elated by prosperity nor dejected by misfortune.

The Man You Are Becoming

Whether you’re a Brother of the Craft or simply a man trying to live right, remember this:

The greatest legacy a man leaves isn’t money, titles, or applause.
It’s character—and the stability he builds at home.

In Freemasonry, we’re taught to work on ourselves the same way a craftsman works rough stone: with purpose, discipline, patience, and steady effort. That work doesn’t end when lodge closes. It shows up in how you lead your family, keep your word, and handle responsibility when no one’s watching.

Every man is called to rise.
To face his weaknesses.
To sharpen his character.
To become someone his family can lean on without hesitation.

The future isn’t built someday.
It’s built today, in the man you choose to be.

Be the father who leads by example.
Be the husband who is steady, loyal, and present.
Be the son who remembers where he came from.
Be the man who finishes what he starts—especially at home.

This journey isn’t about recognition.
It’s about responsibility.
It’s about growth.
It’s about being worthy of the trust placed in you.

Keep building.
Keep refining.
Keep showing up.

Because the future of those who depend on you rests on the man you’re becoming right now.

Not Just a Man, A Mason

A man is shaped by his choices; a Mason is shaped by his obligations.

To be a Mason is to walk a higher path one built on moral discipline, brotherly love, relief, and truth. It is the conscious effort to improve oneself, not for praise, but for purpose.

A Mason is not made perfect in a day. He is made aware, aware of his duties to God, to his family, to his country, and to mankind. He learns that strength lies in humility, that leadership begins with service, and that true light is reflected through conduct, not words.

He is not just a man, defined by title or status.
He is a Mason, defined by character, responsibility, and the lifelong labor of becoming better than he was yesterday.

This is a typical conversation that takes place between Brothers in most Masonic Lodges.

Brother #1. Hey where is that new Master Mason, we raised this year. Was it Spring or Fall?

Brother #2. Ya, I Dunno?

Brother #1. Nice guy, seemed like a real nice guy What was his name?

Brother #2. I Dunno?

Brother #1, What about those two guys we raised last year?

Brother #2. Ahhhh. I Dunno, they never came back either
Where did he go? 🧐
In the real world, if a friend goes missing, we send a search party. In Masonry, we too often say "I dunno" and move on to the next order of business.

It’s time to stop losing our "Missing Master Masons." Engagement is a two-part process: meaningful Lodge programs and genuine personal connection. Remember: A 50-year pin starts with a single conversation tonight. Stay connected. Reach out to those you haven't seen. Make sure every Brother knows he has a place at the table.
