We found a new favorite toy for the cat room!!

It’s so cool, even our feral cat, Oscar is playing!

Our kitties also enjoy laser pointers and we’ve seemed to run out at the shelter. If anyone has any to spare, please drop them off at the shelter so our cats don’t get bored!

Sleepy Cat Sunday!!

Wouldn’t these sweet babies be a whole lot cuter snoozing in a real home??

MAHS is jam packed full with cats and kittens and adoptions have been incredibly slow.

If you’re looking for a feline friend, stop out this week, Tuesday-Friday 12-6 or Saturday 12-5!

ATTENTION, INTERNET. HONK IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.

This is Honk.
He is 6 months old.
He is very cute.
He has many important kitten activities to attend to.

We’re not exactly sure what those activities are, but they appear to involve zooming, investigating absolutely everything, being ridiculous, and looking at you like you are personally responsible for entertaining him.

Honk is at that perfect kitten age where he’s basically a tiny furry tornado with a cute face.

And now he needs something very important:

A FOREVER HOME.

Not a temporary home. Not a “let’s just stop in and look” home. We mean the whole deal. A family to love him, spoil him, play with him, and put up with whatever nonsense he decides is necessary at 3 a.m.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a kitten to your family, COME MEET HONK.

He’s waiting at the Marion Area Humane Society, and he would really, really like to leave here with you.

Come adopt this little weirdo.
Honk has places to be.

🐾 Meet Duke! 🐾

Hey there, I’m Duke, a handsome 6-year-old Boxer mix with a BIG personality and even BIGGER energy! 🥰💙

I’m a fun-loving, active guy who enjoys making friends! ❤️ I generally do well with my canine buddies, but I’ll need a meet & greet with any dogs already in the home to make sure we’re a perfect match.

I’m also looking for a family that understands my energy and is ready to keep me busy with walks, playtime, adventures, and plenty of love! 🏃‍♂️🎾

If there are kiddos in the home, I’ll need to meet them too so everyone can get acquainted and we can make sure we’re a great fit. 🥰

I’ve got plenty of love to give and I’m ready to find my forever family! Could you be my person? 🐾💙

**EDIT ADOPTED**

🎃 Meet Gizmo — Already Dressed for Halloween! 🎃

Who needs a small lapdog who’s a little overweight and already ready for Halloween? No costume necessary for this sweet boy! With his scruffy hair and adorable frowny face, Gizmo looks just like Splinter from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! 🐢❤️

All joking aside, Gizmo is the perfect little companion and could do well in most home environments. He weighs about 13 pounds and is around 6 years old, making him a middle-aged guy who still has plenty of love to give. He could use a good grooming, but underneath that scruffy exterior is a very sweet boy waiting for someone to give him a chance.

Gizmo is good with both dogs and cats. He is very scared in the shelter environment, so we would absolutely love to see him find his forever home sooner rather than later. 🥺❤️

As always, all children and dogs in the home will need to meet Gizmo before adoption.

📍 Come meet Gizmo!
🕛 Tuesday–Friday: 12–6
🕛 Saturday: 12–5

Please hurry in and help this sweet little guy find the loving forever home he deserves! 🏡🐾❤️

**EDIT ADOPTED**

🐾💔 GYPSY NEEDS A SECOND CHANCE. 💔🐾

Meet Gypsy, a gorgeous 3-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix who has found herself back at the shelter through absolutely no fault of her own. 💔

Gypsy was returned this week because her previous family could no longer afford the care needed for her skin allergies. She didn’t do anything wrong. She didn’t stop being loving. She simply needed medical care that became too much financially.

And now this sweet girl is hoping that someone will look past her allergies and see the amazing dog she is. 🥹❤️

Gypsy is an energetic, fun-loving girl who is ready to get out of the shelter and back into a home where she can be someone’s best friend. She has plenty of personality, plenty of energy, and SO much love left to give. She would love a family who will take her on adventures, keep her active, give her lots of attention, and most importantly, never give up on her.

Yes, Gypsy has skin allergies. 🐾
Yes, she’ll need ongoing care.
But she is SO much more than her medical needs.

She’s a beautiful, young girl who deserves to know what it feels like to be chosen for good. 🥺❤️
