💙 $5 Friday for Lana 💙

This week’s $5 Friday is dedicated to our newest resident, Lana.

Lana visited the vet today and has quite a road to recovery ahead of her. She is being treated for a severe skin condition and some of the worst ear infections we’ve seen. In the near future, she will also need surgery to correct her entropion eyelids, a painful condition where the eyelids roll inward and irritate the eyes.

While her body needs healing, her heart does too.

Lana arrived at the shelter with a crushed spirit and is absolutely terrified of her new surroundings. Despite her fear, she has never been anything but gentle, sweet, and kind with our staff. Every day we’re seeing little glimpses of the dog she wants to be. A soft tail wag. A curious look. A quiet request for affection. Her personality is slowly starting to shine through.

Your $5 donation may seem small, but when many people come together, it can make a huge difference for dogs like Lana. Every dollar helps cover her medical care and gives her the chance to feel comfortable, healthy, and loved again.

✨ Transformation Thursday ✨

When Cookie first arrived at the shelter, she was completely shut down. She was battling a painful skin condition, had little confidence, and just looked so defeated. 💔

Fast forward to today… with a little TLC, good care, and a whole lot of love, our 3-year-old girl is looking SO much better. Her coat is healing beautifully, she’s discovered the joy of squeaky toys and treats, and she’s become one of the BEST leash walkers around. 🦴🐾

Cookie is low key, sweet, and incredibly friendly. She absolutely loves being pet and being close to her people. But even with all the progress she’s made, she still seems a little sad here at the shelter. Now that her body is healing, we’re working on healing her spirit too. ❤️

We truly believe Cookie would thrive in a home of her own where she can finally relax and feel loved. The best part? She’s cat, dog, AND kid friendly! 🐶🐱👧

This adorable 4-year-old girl is equal parts sweet and spirited. Luna May is an active pup who loves attention and is always ready to brighten your day with her happy personality. Whether she’s out exploring or soaking up affection from her people, she’s just happy to be included.

Luna May does well with kids and has a loving, gentle nature that makes her easy to adore. She hasn’t done any official meet-and-greets with other dogs yet, but we’re willing to arrange them to see if she could make some canine friends too!

Meet Girly — the total package wrapped up in 70 pounds of sweetness. 💕

Girly is 2½ years old and somehow manages to be both a gentle couch companion and your best adventure buddy all at once. She’s easygoing, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. Whether she’s out at public events soaking up attention or calmly strolling beside you on a leash, Girly is just happy to be included.

She loves dogs, cats, and kids, making her an easy fit for so many families. Girly was originally adopted from our shelter as a puppy and recently found herself back with us through no fault of her own after her family’s landlord sold their home. After two years in a home, she’s understandably confused — but she hasn’t let that dim her loving spirit one bit.

If you’re looking for a dog that’s already proven herself to be social, loving, well-mannered, and ready to slide right back into family life, Girly may truly be your perfect match.

She’s sweet. She’s steady. She’s everybody’s friend. Now she just needs a forever home again. 🐾

One year. 🧡

That’s how long Orange waited at the shelter before finally finding his forever home. He came to us as a tiny kitten and grew up at the shelter waiting for someone to see past his nervous personality and give him a chance. And now? Look at him. Settled in, comfortable, loved, and already starting to let his goofy, sweet personality shine.

Stories like Orange’s are why we always encourage people to consider the long-term kitties and the shy ones. Shelter life is stressful, and some cats just need extra time and patience to show who they really are. The reward is so worth it.

To make this happy ending even sweeter, Orange’s adopter graciously donated a portion of his adoption fee back to the shelter to sponsor reduced adoption fees for his brothers — Carrot, Fig, and Black Bean — who are still waiting for their own forever families. 🧡

Take a chance on the nervous cats. Take a chance on the ones who have been overlooked. Sometimes they just need someone willing to believe in them.
