Dear Honorable Robert D. Fragale, Honorable Larry N. Heiser, Wild Child Conference Attendees, and Wild Child Conference Board Members,
Marion, Ohio
May 23, 2022
Dear Honorable Robert D. Fragale, Honorable Larry N. Heiser, Wild Child Conference Attendees and Wild Child Conference Board Members,
It is with much regret that the Wild Child Conference Committee has decided to dissolve resulting in the Wild Child Conference no longer being offered. While attendance has continued to be robust, the committee which plans the conference has shrunk from 20 members in 1997 to 5 active members within the past few years to handle all the logistics of presenting a full-day conference for 100+ people.
Over the past 33 years the Wild Child Conference Committee has strived to provide top-notch training on cutting-edge topics to professionals who work on behalf of children and adolescents who must cope with challenging circumstances and, in turn. present challenges to professionals who intervene to improve the youths’ outcomes. From 1990 to 2021, the Wild Child Conference Committee has presented a wide variety of programs from Asset Building, Homelessness, Human Trafficking, LGBTQIA to Su***de, Technology, Trauma, and Violence. The Wild Child Conference presenters have been nationally known, regional and local experts. The mix of conference attendees from different professions (counseling, education, nursing, social work, e.g.) and the dedication and warm friendliness of the conference committee, delicious conference snacks, SWAG, and door prizes combined to make the Wild Child Conference truly unique. The committee extends a sincere thank you to all who served on the committee over the past 33 years.
The Wild Child Conference Committee also extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended the Wild Child Conferences in Marion, Ohio, and via Zoom these past 2 years. The attendance and positive evaluations of so many each year made the endeavor of putting together 32 conferences gratifying.
With our gratitude,
The Wild Child Conference Committee
