Happy 87th Birthday retired Colonel Tom Rice who worked all 7 days, including his June 7th birthday. A special thanks to celebrity actress Gigi, who made the trip from California to be with her dad on his special day and helping us with the parking!

With our condolences, we report the passing of Allen "Al" Daugherty, age 90, on Friday, June 5th, 2026. Al was a longtime friend of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, managing Daugherty's Full Service Sohio Service Station and Restaurant for many years with his brother Tom Daugherty and father Kenneth 'Doc' Daugherty. He is survived by his wife Joyce.

We had a couple of big birthdays this week! Retired Colonel Tom Rice celebrated his 87th on Sunday, parking cars on the last day of the Memorial Tournament with his fellow OSP Retirees and Shriner friends. Daughter Gigi flew in from her home in California to be part of the celebration!

Our most senior retiree, retired Staff Lieutenant Ed Centofonte celebrated his 99th birthday today with a round of golf near his home in Fulton, Texas. Ed is a graduate of the 27th Academy Class. FYI, our next most senior retirees, retired Captain Mike Kijowski and retired Lieutenant Ernie Wigglesworth are graduates of the 42nd Academy Class.

Ed credits his longevity to clean living, regular casino visits to supplement his pension, and golf! Happy Birthday Ed!
