On September 28th, 2026, past and present employees from the Gallipolis Patrol Post and Jackson District gathered for a day of fellowship to honor the memories of Sergeant Dale Holcomb and Trooper Joshua Risner who gave the ultimate sacrifice 20 years earlier in a weather related crash on Jackson Pike. Gone but never forgotten. 🙏💙

With our condolences, we report the passing of active Sergeant Tyler Paul Carr, age 46, of Shelby, formerly of Smithville, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield, following injuries sustained in an off duty motorcycle accident. Sergeant Carr was assigned to the Mansfield Patrol Post having served over 22 years at the time of his death. Tyler is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Raine Carr of Lewis Center; his parents, Phil and Beth Carr of Delaware; his brother, Zachary (Lauren) Carr of Delaware.

With our condolences, we report the passing of retired Auxiliary Major Richard 'Rick' Spencer, age 68, after a long fought battle with cancer, on Thursday, October 8th, 2026. Rick served with the OSP Auxiliary from 1994 to 2012. He is survived by his wife, Janet.
