Ohio history is coming to Miarion@ Stop by the Marion Public Library for this traveling exhibit on our First Ladies!

"The Untold Stories of Ohio's First Ladies" traveling kiosk is on display at the Marion Public Library.

In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the National First Ladies Library & Museum and Marion Public Library announce a unique statewide partnership across Ohio to present “The Untold Stories of Ohio’s First Ladies” – a dynamic, interactive traveling kiosk exhibit that shines a spotlight on the lives, leadership, and legacy of Ohio’s most influential First Ladies.

This exhibit will be on display at MPL until June 29, and is offered with support from Ohio Humanities – America 250.

America250 programs are funded through grants from Marion Community Foundation and Marion Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Find more America250 programs by visiting MarionLibrary.org/America250.

We’ve set a massive goal of 2,026 total registrations, and we need your help to get there. If we hit that number, our Library Director, Gary Branson, will be doing a dino-sized challenge you won't want to miss!

Missed the kickoff? No problem. Registration stays open through July 31st, so there is still plenty of time to sign up, help us reach 2,026, and join the fun.

On Wednesday, June 10, local REALTORS® are teaming up to help make our neighborhoods cleaner, safer, and more beautiful.

Whether you're cleaning out your garage, basement, shed, or simply have items you'd like to get rid of, we've got two ways to help:

✅ Drop off unwanted items at the dumpsters located at the former Old Kimmel Cleaners site (125 E. Columbia St.) from 10 AM–4 PM

✅ Curbside cleanup assistance in the Park Blvd., Olney Ave., and Blaine Ave. areas from 10 AM–1 PM, where REALTOR® teams will be out helping collect and remove eligible items from the curb

This is one small way the real estate community can give back to the neighborhoods we know, serve, and love. 🖤

Join us this Friday, June 5, from 3:00–4:00 PM at the Marion Public Library for a fun and family-friendly program: “Paleontology and Fossils with Wayne Fowler.”

Our wonderful volunteer Wayne Fowler, who helps bring Paleontology in the Park at Tallgrass Trail to life, will be sharing a collection of small fossils and dinosaur figures he uses to help explain how we learn about extinct animals.

Through these hands-on examples, Wayne will show how scientists use clues left behind in nature to better understand ancient wildlife and the world they lived in.

It’s a great opportunity for kids and families to explore the basics of paleontology in an approachable and interactive way!

Please note: Nina, the allosaurus (the dinosaur you see in the picture) that program will be tomorrow night (June 3) at 5:30 PM. This was just the best picture we had of Wayne Fowler. Sorry for the confusion.
