💜 Meet Jeremy! 💜

We’re excited to introduce Jeremy, our Blackford County Outreach Advocate!

Jeremy is passionate about serving the community he calls home. A graduate of Blackford Junior-Senior High School and a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Ball State University, Jeremy brings both professional experience and a heart for helping others. Following college, he spent five years with the Department of Child Services, working alongside survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.

Jeremy’s passion for advocacy began while volunteering at A Better Way in Delaware County and grew into a calling to serve individuals and families throughout Blackford County. He is especially passionate about supporting survivors through empowerment, connecting them with community resources, encouraging self-autonomy, and providing case management services that address their unique needs. Jeremy is also dedicated to building strong community partnerships that increase support, resiliency, and access to resources for survivors.

Outside of work, Jeremy is a foster parent who enjoys cheering on his kiddos at their extracurricular activities. He loves reading fantasy books, playing board and card games like chess and Euchre, and appreciates quiet moments when he can find them. While summer is here, Jeremy will tell you he’s much more a fan of the cool autumn breeze!

Jeremy’s compassion, determination, reliability, and empathy make him a wonderful addition to Hands of Hope and a valuable advocate for the Blackford County community.

Please join us in welcoming Jeremy to the Hands of Hope team!

“I DON’T KNOW HOW TO HELP…”

Domestic violence situations are often far more complicated than they appear from the outside. Survivors may not be ready, able, or safe enough to share every detail — and that’s okay. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply listen, believe, and support without judgment. 💜

At Hands of Hope, we want our community to know that helping doesn’t always mean having all the answers. It means meeting survivors where they are, when they are ready.

Strong fathers help build strong futures. 💜

The way we model love, respect, communication, and healthy behavior for our children today can help break cycles of violence for generations to come. Children learn not only from what we say — but from what we show them every single day.

Healthy families begin with teaching kindness over control, respect over fear, and communication over violence. Together, we can create safer homes, healthier relationships, and stronger communities. 🦋

Choose respect. Choose hope.

Three cheers for the red, white, & blue. We're using straws to make a patriotic craft. Bring a friend or meet new ones while you work on a relaxing craft, then get out just in time for lunch.
