Do you know about the VFW National Home? 🇺🇸❤️

Located in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, the VFW National Home is a compassionate, non-profit community dedicated to supporting the families of our nation's veterans and active-duty military personnel. It is not a hospital or a nursing home. Instead, it is a vibrant, 80-acre neighborhood featuring single-family homes, a daycare center, playgrounds, and a community center. They provide a safe haven where military families facing difficult times—such as post-deployment challenges, financial stress, or family separation—can live rent-free for up to four years while they rebuild their lives. Through their free National Home Helpline, they also connect military families nationwide with vital local resources, helping them find housing, employment, and mental health support. For over a century, this incredible organization has kept military families together and strong. Let’s help spread the word so no veteran's family has to navigate hard times alone!

The **Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)** invite students to participate in their **2026–2027 Youth Scholarship Programs** centered around this year's inspiring theme:

⭐ **"What a Veteran Taught Me About America."** ⭐

✍️ **Patriot's Pen**
📚 Grades 6–8
Write a 300–400 word essay for a chance to earn scholarships up to **$5,000!**

🎙️ **Voice of Democracy**
🎓 Grades 9–12
Record a 3–5 minute audio essay and compete for more than **$2 million** in national scholarships, including a **$35,000 First Place Scholarship!**

📅 **Entry Deadline:** October 31, 2026

Tonight we awarded prizes for the patriotic art contest. All entries were received from Marion Senior High. Congratulations to:
