For many years, this talented group of local musicians of all ages who shared a love of music and a desire to represent Marion at parades created lasting memories for both participants and spectators, helping to showcase the strong community spirit that has long been a part of Marion.

Raffle tickets are now on sale for the Marion Area Historical Society. This is our major fundraiser. We can not send out tickets, but we can fill them out with your name on. Just tell us how many and send a check and we will get you in the drawing. Thanks in advance for any support.

We're Open for the Season starting this Saturday!

The Historical Society opens for the 2026 season this Saturday!

Join us as we preserve and share the stories, artifacts, and memories that make our community unique.

📅 Open: • June – 2nd & 4th Saturdays • July – 2nd & 4th Saturdays • August – 2nd & 4th Saturdays

🕒 1-4 p.m.

-June 13th-open 1-4

-July 25th-David & Ken Raether Day with Sun Drop slushies 💛💚

-August 8th-Open 1-4
-August 22nd-Open 1-4 with Root Beer Floats!

🌞 Summer at the Historical Society is Almost Here! 🌞

We’re excited to welcome you back for a fun-filled season of history, community, and sweet treats!

Join us starting in June—we’ll be open every 2nd and 4th Saturday with special events planned throughout the summer.

🍓 June 27 – Enjoy delicious strawberry sundaes

🚜 July 25 – John Deere & Raether Day featuring Sun Drop slushies and a special plaque presentation honoring Dave and Ken Raether 💛💚

🥤 August 22 – Cool off with classic root beer floats

Bring your family and friends and make some summer memories with us. We can’t wait to see you there!

Just A Reminder: We are starting to think about spring cleaning at the Historical Society, so that means we need to take down the rest of the Christmas trees inside the museum. The museum will be open this Saturday, April 11th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. for those that can make it. Otherwise please reach out and we will set a date and time that is convenient for you. Thanks.
