🚨 After several delays, the House will vote on H.R. 2616 TOMORROW, May 20th. If passed, it would strip federal funds from schools that acknowledge transgender people exist, whether it’s in coursework, a library resource, or even for using a student’s correct name and pronouns in the classroom.

H.R. 2616 would effectively ban any books and other classroom materials that reflect the real lives and experiences of transgender and nonbinary students, as well as impose forced outing policies on school districts around the country. Public schools should be places where young people can feel safe, learn, explore ideas, and see themselves reflected in the stories they read. But this bill threatens that principle.

Your member of Congress needs to hear from you NOW. Contact your Representative today and tell them to OPPOSE H.R. 2616 and get to work ensuring ALL students can get a quality public education. Take Action NOW: pflag.org/takeaction

The vast majority of Americans support trans rights, and 41% of U.S. adults now say they know a trans person.

Americans who report regular conversations with a trans person are CONSISTENTLY more likely to support equality across:

🏳️‍⚧️ health care
🏳️‍⚧️ education
🏳️‍⚧️ workplace

OUR MOVEMENT IS GROWING.

Good info:

Access is not equal.

Knowing where you can go without being misgendered, dismissed, or endangered is survival.

So we built a Resource Map.

Every organization listed either has BLACK TGNC leadership or explicitly centers BLACK TGNC people.

Housing.

Food.

Legal support.

Financial help.

Health and wellness.

Employment.

Community.

This is what protection looks like when we build it ourselves. If you know of an organization that’s missing!

If you or someone you love needs support, start here.

Today is the start of LGBTQ Health Awareness Week, created 24 years ago to raise awareness about timely and relevant issues impacting LGBTQ healthcare.

This year’s theme is “Organize to OUTlast” which calls on the LGBTQ community and those who provide healthcare for LGBTQ communities to organize for LGBTQ health against regressive forces in policy and culture.
