What a beautiful day in Historic Downtown Marion!

Thousands of kids, lots of candy, and a community that continues to show up for one another!

A huge THANK YOU to our Monster March sponsor, First Citizens National Bank, for helping make today's event possible!

We also want to thank the many businesses, organizations, and individuals who generously donated their time, money, and LOTS of candy to bring smiles to so many kids today. Events like this simply wouldn't happen without you!

And to Marion — thank you for showing up! What a wonderful day to enjoy our beautiful historic downtown, see familiar faces, and make memories with family and friends.

TODAY IS THE DAY! Downtown Marion Monster March!

Grab your costumes, bring your treat bags, and head downtown for an afternoon of Halloween fun!

Join us TODAY, Saturday, October 24, from 12–2 PM for trick-or-treating throughout Downtown Marion!

Local businesses, organizations, and community partners will be ready to welcome all the little ghosts, goblins, princesses, and superheroes!

**Check out the Monster March map below** to see where all the participating treat stations will be located.

A few reminders:
- Streets will be closed during the event, so plan ahead for parking.
- Bring your treat bags and follow the map to visit participating locations.
- Remember to thank the businesses, organizations, and volunteers who make this event possible!

While you're downtown, make a day of it! Before or after the Monster March, stop in and support our wonderful downtown businesses. Grab a coffee, enjoy breakfast or lunch, browse the shops, or discover somewhere new! These local businesses are the heart of our downtown, and your support makes a difference.

🍂 Remembering Kenny Spafford — One of Downtown Marion's Own

If you spent much time in downtown Marion, chances are you knew Kenny Spafford. He was one of those special people who became part of the fabric of our downtown. You could often find him walking the streets, sweeping sidewalks, helping keep things tidy, and simply being Kenny.

When Kenny passed away last year, our community came together to make sure he was taken care of. Through the generosity of so many caring people, funds were raised to help with his funeral expenses and provide him with a beautiful final resting place, complete with a headstone.

Today, on this beautiful fall afternoon, we visited Kenny's resting place and placed some flowers in the urn at his gravesite.

We wanted to share these photos with everyone who contributed, supported the effort, or simply cared about Kenny. Your kindness helped make this possible, and we want you to see the lasting tribute your generosity helped provide.

📍 For anyone who would like to visit Kenny and pay their respects, he is laid to rest in Section E of the Marion Cemetery. We've also included a cemetery map with a star marking his location to make it easier to find.

It was a beautiful fall day to visit, and we'd like to think Kenny was enjoying it, too.

Rest peacefully, Kenny. You are remembered, and you will always be part of downtown Marion's story.

A little construction shouldn't stop us from supporting our downtown!

We know there's a lot of construction happening around Marion right now. Detours can be frustrating, traffic might take a little longer, and getting where you're going may require a different route.

But here's what hasn't changed...

Our downtown businesses are OPEN, and they're waiting to welcome you!

These are small businesses that depend on customers walking through their doors every day. And when getting downtown feels a little less convenient, your decision to make the trip matters even more.

So take a breath, slow down, find a parking spot, and enjoy a little walk through downtown. Fall is a beautiful time to explore!

Grab a coffee, meet a friend for breakfast, enjoy lunch or dinner, pick up something sweet, shop for toys, browse our boutiques, or discover a business you've never visited before.

Downtown Marion, Inc. would like to share that Allen Wilson has resigned from his position as Executive Director.

We appreciate Allen's service to the organization and his contributions to our downtown community, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Our Board of Directors remains committed to supporting our downtown businesses, strengthening community partnerships, and continuing the events, programs, and initiatives that make Downtown Marion a vibrant place to live, work, shop, and visit.

We are grateful for the continued support of our volunteers, businesses, partners, and community members as we move forward together.

We are also sharing Allen's resignation letter, in which he reflects on his time with Downtown Marion, Inc. and expresses his appreciation for the community.
