The countdown is on for "Threads of Survivorship" Mural Unveiling & Gallery Exhibition!

Join the Rainbow House next Thursday as we celebrate the creativity, resilience, and voices of relationship violence survivors in our community. Along with the unveiling of collaborative murals, enjoy an artist talkback, community resource fair, raffle prizes, light refreshments, and opportunities to connect!

❤️🤍💙 We had a great time at today's Red, White & Well Health Fair hosted by the Marinette County & City of Marinette Wellness Committees! 🎨✨

While at the REC Center, I snuck away from our table to check out the mural we created last summer with kiddos in their daytime programming! 🥹🌈

I realized I never shared the finished piece, so here it is!! Better late than never! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Thanks for having us and for a wonderful day celebrating community wellness! 🫶

🧡 Every Child Matters. 🧡

Today, Creative Routes Mobile Art Studio recognizes Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We honor the Indigenous children who were taken from their families and communities through the residential and boarding school systems, those who never returned home, the Survivors who carry those experiences, and the generations who continue to be impacted.

As an organization rooted in art, healing, and community, we believe there is power in making space to listen, learn, remember, and reflect.

Every child mattered then. Every child matters now. 🧡

🎨 It’s Creative Clubhouse night! 🧡

We’re back at the DAR Boys & Girls Club tonight for another evening of art-making, creative expression, connection, and fun!

Creative Clubhouse is an art therapy-led program supporting emotional wellness, coping skills, self-expression, and connection through creativity. 🎨✨

Today's studio progress: WALLS!✨🛠️

Today was WALL PANELING DAY!!! A truck bed full of plywood is slowly but surely becoming actual finished walls and suddenly this little studio is looking more and more like… a studio?! 😭🎨

This entire build has been one giant DIY crash course. Before starting this trailer I had literally NEVER used a saw like this before, and now I’m measuring, cutting, and installing wall panels??? Turns out when you build a mobile art studio, you also become a little bit of a carpenter along the way. Who knew? 😂

I did accidentally saw into my workbench a little bit today (oops 👀), so clearly we’re still learning over here—but I’m learning FAST and having so much fun figuring out how to make this crazy little vision actually exist.

Still lots more walls to finish and SO many projects ahead, but I am so freaking motivated to see this through!!! 🥹🧡🛠️

Some things never change! 🎨✨ Seven years later, and apparently colorful buckets of paint are still a pretty good indicator of what I’m up to.

Did you know mural-making has been part of my work since the very beginning of my art therapy career? Public art and artivism have always held a special place in the work I do—using creativity to help people express themselves, tell their stories, take up space, and create something meaningful together.

If your agency, organization, or community group has a space, story, or idea that could come to life through a therapeutic mural project, don’t hesitate to reach out! 👀🎨
