Central Coast Veterans Cemetery Foundation Fort Ord, until its closure in 1994, was best known as a center for instruction of basic and advanced infantrymen. CCVCF is a registered 501c3 Public Charity.

The Central Coast Veterans Cemetery Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation was founded and continues to facilitate and assist in the establishment of a Veterans Cemetery at the former Fort Ord Miltary base along the Central Coast of California. The Monterey Peninsula has a long association with the military from the Defense Language Institute based at the Presidio of Monterey, The Naval Po

stgraduate School, The Naval Air Station, among others. Continuing its vision to establish and support a 78 acre Veterans Cemetery at Fort Ord, California the foundation continues in its commitment to support the Cemetery as it grows and expands as a way to honor our nation’s veterans and military tradition on the Central Coast.

Veterans Cemetery Signs Are Up on Highway 1

On December 17, 2025, the Monterey County Military and Veterans Affairs office reported final success in its long effort to have Caltrans install signs on Highway 1 directing motorists to the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery (at the Lightfighter Drive exit in Seaside). The office of Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas played a key role in making this happen.
