The Playa Vista Community Yard Sale is happening this Saturday! Many great items will be for sale, so spread the word! Come on out and visit our Playa Vista Optimists' booth across from The Coffee Bean. Look for our members in yellow shirts. Everything must go. Bargains galore. Your purchases will help support our many programs and projects, including Baby2Baby, Duffle Bags for Foster Kids, Mar Vista Family Center, Optimist Youth Home, Safe Place for Youth, School on Wheels, Student Scholarships, Student Essay Contest, Readers Are Leaders, Make Good Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Believe In Yourself! Mental Support Program for Youth. Come by and say hello. We'd love to meet you.

The PVO Essay Contest Committee is now seeking entries for the Optimist International 2024-2025 Essay Contest. The contest allows young people to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. The approach can encompass a young person's personal experience, the experience of their country, or a more historical perspective. In addition to developing skills for written expression, participants also have the opportunity to win a $2500 college scholarship! In addition, our Club winner will receive a $400 stipend.
