We got robbed...by pirates...

No seriously -- PLEASE READ & SHARE

Friday March 20th, our Islander 30ft sail boat, "Islander Hopper" was stolen from our docks in Marina Del Rey.

The thieves came by boat, cut our lines and sailed away with our precious youth training sailboat. Notably, the CF numbers may have been swapped to cover their escape.

The Marina Del Rey Sea Scouts asks for the Public's kind assistance in locating our stolen boat -- if you have any information please reach out to the Marina Del Ray Sheriff's station: 310-482-6000

Exciting news! The Manta's new mast is now installed and looking fantastic. Masterfully reconstructed by Bill "Grandpa" Paukert, he said it was the most challenging woodworking project he has ever done. "I could have remodeled 3 kitchens for the same amount of effort." The Islander crew can't wait to put it to the test on their first cruise of the season in June.

Islander has done it again! For the third year in a row, Ship 16 claimed victory at the Long Beach Invitational Regatta on Saturday, 01 March 2025. This year’s fun-filled event took an exciting, and hilarious, turn when the crew took an unplanned swim in the harbor during the kayak event. Trent’s mom came to the rescue by getting stylish plaid pajama pants, which the guys wore to finish the day and proudly pose with their 1st Place Award. A huge thank you to the Long Beach Sea Base for hosting such a fantastic regatta—we can’t wait for next year!

We are heartbroken to share that Camp Josepho, our beloved 84-year-old Scouting Camp in the Santa Monica Mountains, was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades Fire. 💔

Right now, our focus is on supporting families and communities affected by the devastating wildfires across Los Angeles. Relief efforts are underway, including donations for those in need and partnerships with local officials to provide aid.

Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time. Together, we will help our community recover.
