🪴 Connection. Community. Curriculum.

Curriculum Night is an opportunity for our families to step more deeply into the life of The Garden School and the educational philosophy that shapes each school day.

Throughout the evening, teachers invite parents into the rhythms, experiences, and developmental intentions of their classrooms, sharing not only what the children are learning, but why we teach in the ways we do.

In our Waldorf-inspired approach, every part of the day is chosen with intention: story, movement, art, academics, handwork, time in nature, meaningful work, and the rhythms that hold it all together. Curriculum Night helps make those connections visible, giving parents a fuller picture of how these experiences meet children developmentally and support the growth of the whole child.

Because when families understand the why behind the work, the connection between home and school grows stronger, and so does the community surrounding our children. 🌿 ation

Nature-rich. Whole-child. Accredited. 🌿

Our Waldorf-inspired forest education invites children to learn through play, rhythm, relationship, imagination, meaningful work, and a deep connection to the natural world. As a school accredited with Quality by the Georgia Accreditation Committee, we pair that rich, developmentally appropriate experience with a strong commitment to educational excellence, thoughtful practice, and developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Come experience the rhythm of a Garden School day for yourself. Visit our website to schedule a campus tour and discover what learning can look like when childhood, nature, and education are held with intention. 🌱

Handwork is an essential part of Waldorf education, bringing together movement, focus, creativity, and purposeful work. 🧶🌿

Through knitting, sewing, weaving, felting, woodworking, and other traditional crafts, children engage the whole self. The rhythmic, coordinated movements support bilateral integration and crossing the midline, while following patterns and working step by step strengthens sequencing, problem-solving, sustained attention, patience, and perseverance.

There is also something powerful in making something real.

A child begins with simple materials, learns a process, works through mistakes, stays with the task, and eventually holds something in their hands that exists because of their own effort and care. That experience builds confidence, capability, and a relationship to meaningful work.

Handwork is deeply analog by nature. It invites children to slow down, focus, use their hands with intention, and experience the satisfaction of a process that unfolds over time.

At The Garden School, this work has a home in our Handwork Geodome, where both students and parents are invited to learn, make, and create.

Our parent handwork offerings are an extension of the same philosophy. When parents experience the kinds of purposeful, tactile work their children encounter at school, they gain a deeper connection to the education itself. And when adults gather around a shared task, conversation and relationship grow naturally.

Parents create alongside one another. Children see the adults in their community valuing craftsmanship, patience, and the work of the hands. School and home begin to feel a little more connected.

In that way, handwork becomes more than a subject. It becomes a thread connecting child, parent, and community. 🌿🧶✨

Learning comes alive when children are invited to meet the world with curiosity, imagination, and wonder. 🌿

In our Waldorf-inspired Grades Program, lessons unfold through rich storytelling, artistic exploration, meaningful academic work, and time spent learning both inside and outdoors. With a class teacher guiding students through the years, children are deeply known, thoughtfully challenged, and supported as they grow into confident, capable, and engaged learners.

Here, the classroom is bigger than four walls. 💛

Creek-cess, our version of recess — just in the creek! 🌿💧

Our creek is an integral part of both our campus and curriculum. Beginning in Kindergarten, when weather allows, students venture down to the creek for recess, where play unfolds naturally through movement, imagination, cooperation, risk-taking, and exploration.

As students grow, their relationship with the creek grows too. Our Middle School students conduct water-quality testing as part of the Adopt-A-Stream initiative, using real-world science to help monitor and protect our local watershed.

From imaginative play to environmental stewardship, the creek is a place where students learn to know, love, and care for the natural world around them.

Hope truly bloomed at The Garden School 🌿

Together, our community came together in the most meaningful way—exceeding our Fund-A-Need goal and raising $19,450 to support the growth and revitalization of our farm and signage.

Because of you, we doubled our impact this year:
✨ $35,000 total raised
✨ 111 guests gathered in celebration

We are deeply grateful to our board, donors, faculty, staff, volunteers, and friends who made this night so special. Your generosity helps nurture the hands-on experiences and connections that make our school so unique.
