Hey everyone. A Carolina Wren has built her nest in the dog baggie dispenser at the second entrance to Kemp, and there are two eggs. Let’s not disturb her. I will try to figure out a place to put some dog baggies at the kiosk. And please use the garbage can at the kiosk for your own dog dispenser bags and any other trash. Thank you!!

Hi friends. It’s the season for fawns! Please keep your dogs on a leash. And if you see a fawn resting in the grass, remember they have NOT been abandoned. Mama is probably out foraging for food and will come back to the same spot. Do not handle them, and please keep your distance! Thank you!! ❤️❤️

A BIG thank you to the “Friends of Kemp” Board member Allen DeNyse and his crew/helpers who finished graveling and leveling and draining of the parking area in front of the Caretakers’ house!! Thank you SO MUCH!! It looks wonderful and well made and is very appreciated! This was made possible in part by a large donation to the Friends of Kemp years ago. ❤️👍 For the future, Kemp Park also has 2022 SPLOST money designated for a small parking lot and restrooms at the back entrance. Plans are in progress. Stay tuned.

The Friends of Kemp have begun work to gravel in the front parking area (left of driveway). Allen could use some workers to help build the small retaining wall starting today. And laying gravel in the near future. If you want to help, please stop by and ask Allen how you can help! Thank you. If you’d like to donate money for this project, you can do that on our website, friendsofkemp.org Thank you all!!

The Master Gardeners event is this weekend at Jim Miller Park! If you happen to go, and if you happen to purchase some extra pollinator plants, Kemp Park would appreciate any plants donated to our Pollinator Garden. 😁 We have a great committee who takes care of the garden (weeding, watering, etc). If you’d like to join us, let me know!
