The first Saturday of the month is October 3rd. So that means our pollinator garden volunteers will be working beginning at 9:00. Stop by and see the garden and help if you want! The Blue Mist Flower should be covering the garden in a blue haze. 😊

Hello! I want to alert our park users that the Cobb PARKS Dept is allowing the Cobb Disc Golf Club to host an event at Kemp Park on October 10th. The park is still open to anyone! The event will be organized at the back parking lot, so if that is your usual place to park, you may want to use the front entrance. The event will be using the lower pastures, and it will run roughly from 7:00 - 5:30.

Kemp Park is also excited to now be included in the Georgia Birding Trail, along with Price Park and Green Meadows Preserve! Three wonderful passive parks where you can enjoy birds, wildlife, and nature in West Cobb!

Leone Hall Price Park: Leone Hall Price Park is a 243-acre passive park in Kennesaw, Georgia, known for its peaceful. Birding and wildlife watching.

Our pollinator garden volunteers have decided to have a monthly work day on the 1st Saturday of the month starting at 9:00 am. Feel free to stop by and see what’s going on (w**ding, thinning, deadheading,etc)!! Bring your gloves if you want to jump in and help!

Hello Friends of Kemp Park! Many of you like to walk/hike Kemp Park regularly to enjoy the beauty, nature, and serenity, and also get your (or your dog’s) exercise. I’m sure you’ve noticed the Pollinator Garden just beyond the red barn. We are looking for some extra volunteers who are willing to w**d and/or thin out plants through the rest of the summer. Our current team started the garden in 2022 and have planted and watered the first few years. We’ve had people donate some plants, hoses, and sprinklers, etc. The garden has been a great success, and we appreciate all the work they’ve done! So now, the garden is pretty self-sufficient, except for w**ding and thinning some plants. If you think you could spare some time when you walk the park, and would enjoy helping with the garden, please send me an email, Peggy Ashley at [email protected], and I’ll organize a little get-together the weekend of the 18-19 to explain the plants that are in the garden and what you would need to do. You can spend as little time as you have, or as much time as you wish. No problem; it’s up to you! Thank you!! Hope to hear from you!

Hey everyone. A Carolina Wren has built her nest in the dog baggie dispenser at the second entrance to Kemp, and there are two eggs. Let’s not disturb her. I will try to figure out a place to put some dog baggies at the kiosk. And please use the garbage can at the kiosk for your own dog dispenser bags and any other trash. Thank you!!

Hi friends. It’s the season for fawns! Please keep your dogs on a leash. And if you see a fawn resting in the grass, remember they have NOT been abandoned. Mama is probably out foraging for food and will come back to the same spot. Do not handle them, and please keep your distance! Thank you!! ❤️❤️
