Live Healthy Douglas is a partnership of community organizations and individuals dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles and the delivery of essential health services in Douglas County. Together, through a strategic process called Mobilizing Action Through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP), Live Healthy Douglas has assessed the current health status of the county and is developing a Community Health Improvement Plan that will help create significant changes in building a healthier community.

The overall goal is to implement strategic changes throughout Douglas County that build a foundation for reducing and preventing chronic disease such as diabetes, stroke, heart disease and cancer by promoting healthy lifestyles and better access to health and prevention services for the community.

In 2011, the Cobb & Douglas Public Health Department (CDPH) was awarded a Community Transformation Grant (CTG), supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to help create a healthier community by making healthy living easier and more affordable where people live, work, learn and play.
