PAWSitive Supporters Non-profit group dedicated to helping homeless and shelter animals in Cobb County. PAWSitive Supporters Inc. Litter after litter of kittens come in daily.

is a 501c3 non-profit founded in 2014 to help animals in Cobb County, GA providing low-cost/no-cost spay/neuters to low income areas of Cobb County. Area shelters and rescues are bursting at the seams with dogs and cats waiting to be adopted. Because of the scarcity of low-cost s/n programs and lack of education on the importance of s/n, this littering continues! Our Fix'Em Free program goes out t

o mobile home communities and local food banks where people live or come looking for help for themselves. These are family pets that are in need. The program provides a spay or neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, distemper for cats-parvo vaccine for dogs, deworming, and nail trims. Many times this is the first vet visit for these pets. We also provide education on what it means to be a responsible pet owner and we pass out food as donated to us. In 2020, we have helped alter 133 pets thanks to our partnership with Lifeline Animal Project. Due to the pandemic, we lost almost 3 months because s/n facilities were closed. Including these 133 pets, we have fixed over 1200 since we started our program. With the country in the throes of the pandemic, our "free" is no longer free due to many grant programs not being unavailable. Our hope is to try to continue operating on a shared 50/50 plan- owners paying half/ our program paying half. We ask for your help by liking us on Facebook to stay up to date on our programs, and for your donations to continue to provide this needed service in our community. THANK YOU

Ask the vet's office: corporate or privately owned. And then make your own decisions.

We spend big bucks on our pets, and those dollars are drawing private equity firms to jump into veterinary services.

Oreo is Mr. Personality! His owner could no longer take care of him, and he was surrendered to the shelter back in March. He is a little bit nervous in the loud kennels, but once he’s outside, his personality comes through. He loves to walk with the volunteers and is a perfect gentleman on the leash. He loves to have his picture taken and poses for them. This boy is precious, handsome, and full of love to give to a new family.

Tues. 5/5 was our spay/neuter day. We sent 5 dogs and 8 cats down to Lifeline Animal Project.
Of the 5 dogs 3 were in heat
OF the 8 cats, 2 were in heat and one was pregnant. We do terminate with the owners permission.
The dogs were Sandy, Honeybun Sammie, Donaji and Chiquis. The cats were Baby George, Tripod, Baby Girl, ChiChi, Holly, Gata, Latto and Amy.

So, that's 5 litters of dogs and cats that won't happen because of the spays and neuters.
Spay and neutering animals is so critical to managing the pet population in our area, keeping incoming numbers down for our county shelter (and for rescues), and making healthier pets all around.

This is kitten season and it is in full swing. We are not a vet clinic so we don't have regular business hours. If you have a cat that needs a spay or neuter, you can contact Good Mews on Roswell Rd/Marietta for an appointment. Let's try to head off an out of control kitten season by making an appointment today for your cat or you too can adopt a cat during "June is adopt a cat month"

On Thurs. morning this past week I had a lady call and ask for our prices on s/n. She had a ChiChi. I gave her a price and she was all set to book with us when I asked the dog's age- 9yrs old. She had the dog at the vet that morning and very calmly was telling me they diagnosed pyometra. I started to freak out- did they not tell you you need surgery immediately? She said they said 48hrs but realy the dog needed to be seen in 24yrs. They gave her an antibiotic and I guess she thought that would cure the infection in her uterus. I explained in no uncertain terms she needed an immediate appointment so she and I started making calls. $2,000 at one emergency facility and this woman did not have the money or the credit to do that. So after many many calls I suggested she call LifeLine Animal Project Lifeline in Atlanta on Presidential Drive (their full service facility now open on Sat. and Sun.). They are on the other side of town but she said she would go if they could get her in. She did and they called early Fri. a.m. and told her to bring the dog in immediately. She did and Navi had her surgery and went home Fri. night. Checking in with her owner on Sat. a.m. and she was doing fine, eating again, and walking slowly around! A big thanks to LifeLine Animal Project for saving this little one's life.
