Rotary Club of East Cobb, it was wonderful seeing you all and our guests at this morning's breakfast meeting! Our ROTW Tom Brandon was dressed to the nines as he often is, cheerfully welcoming us all with a big smile and warm handshake.
How many of you had heard of Fundoria before today? It was such a treat to have Guest Speaker Patrick Arnold from Fundoria with us this morning driving more than an hour to tell us about the amazing work Fundoria is doing, how they got started, and how they are growing and continue to develop and partner. Hearing this 24 year old entrepreneur restores my faith in young leaders!
Fundoria helps students master essential financial and career skills through a safe, gamified world—blending teacher-guided lessons, student-led exploration, and data-driven progress tracking.
We also welcome today's guests Linda Schaefer and Rob Landsdown. It was great meeting you and we hope you come back to see us! Who knows, you may want to become an official member of our wonderful fellowship of service!
Sunshine is one of my favorite times of each meeting as we get to hear more about our member personal and business lives. A huge congratulations to Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick on her child's wedding festivities this past weekend!
Not all sunshines are full of sunshine such as Randy's news about how much he's already spent on trying to get his icemaker fixed before deciding ti purchase a new refrigerator! Or hearing about Joel with his feld tree and mulch pile. Glad you still had energy to take the youth out on the water!
As you probably know, Rotary recognizes World Polio day on October 24th this year, on our Day of Service. Please check your emails about tomorrow's Thirsty Thursday at McCray's Tavern festuring Pints for Polio where President Benjamin has generously pledged $5 towards Polio for every member who attends. There's an additional email with instructions how you can raise $5 to $10 for Polio FREE, just by getting your flu shot!
Also be on the lookout for our Service Day signup genius. We need all hands on deck for this annual group service event.
