Luke 7:47 “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.”
There’s something so powerful about that truth. When you’ve lived in bo***ge, when you’ve gone all in on something that once had you chained, and then you encounter real freedom, your love for Jesus comes from a deep place. It’s not surface level. It’s not casual. It’s rooted in knowing what you were pulled out of.
I can relate to that personally. When I was an addict, I went hard. I gave everything to something that was destroying me. It had my time, my energy, my thoughts, my focus. But when I was delivered, that same intensity didn’t disappear, it shifted. Now I go hard for Jesus. The passion is still there, but it’s been redeemed. What once led me into darkness now fuels my pursuit of Him.
And that’s why I love seeing people who have been set free from all kinds of things. There’s a fire in them. The same drive that once kept them bound now becomes the very thing that pushes them toward God with everything they have. They don’t just love a little. They love much, because they know what they’ve been forgiven from.
There’s something beautiful about a life that’s been radically changed. It carries a depth of gratitude, a boldness, and a love that can’t be manufactured. It’s real, and it’s powerful.
