Eighteen members of the Marietta Cadet Squadron honored the veterans interred at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA yesterday as part of Wreaths Across America. The remembrance of their lives was blessed with perfect weather and included a very appropriate three-pass flyover. The 47,000 veterans now interred at Georgia National Cemetery are not forgotten, nor is the blessing of freedom they have helped to secure.

We're so excited to announce the promotion of former cadet Gregory Cordell to the grade of First Lieutenant! Cordell joined Civil Air Patrol as a cadet in 2019 and later served as Marietta's Cadet Commander. Today he serves as Testing Officer, helping to ensure today's cadets have every opportunity to excel that he did. Congratulations, Lieutenant!

A great day a 2024 Academy Day, at Dobbins ARB, Marietta, Georgia! An opportunity for young people interested in attending one of the military service academies, United States Air Force Academy, Annapolis, West Point, the Coast Guard Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy, to speak to representatives face to face and learn more about what makes them different.
Three Civil Air Patrol squadrons, Marietta Cadet (ours), Cobb County Composite and Forsyth County manned our largest display ever with tables, flight simulators, a Cessna 206 and a Cessna 182, as well as an Emergency Services vehicle and ground team equipment. It was a big undertaking, and everyone worked so hard!

Loads of young people sorting out their plans and hopes. I’m SO PROUD of these CADETS!!

The Marietta Cadet Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, took a fantastic trip to the AIRBUS Final Assembly Line Tour, where they put it all together for the A-320 and A-321! Absolutely fantastic!
THEN, we moved over to the USS ALABAMA, where we camped overnight on board, and toured this mighty and beautiful battleship!
We toured the USS Drum, a very impressive submarine, and enjoyed the aircraft hangar full of historic aircraft.
Then BUC-EES on the way home!

A great SAFETY DAY at GA-454 last Thursday! Firefighter Torpy from the Cobb Safety Village came out and spoke to us about fire safety and proper use of extinguishers, the all of the unit had a chance to try to put out the “fire”!
We then had a great Safety Scavenger Hunt, a discussion about tornado and storm evacuation, then we practiced flight line safety procedures.
