🌟 RWPS Update: Growing the Impact! 🌟
Real World Problem Scenario (RWPS) momentum is building! Three more incredible teachers across 2 school districts and 3 schools are now bringing authentic, community-driven learning to life.
🏫 New Classrooms Engaged:
• Tia Endsley (3rd grade, Morgan South Elementary | Morgan Local School District is partnering with Citizens National Bank of McConnelsville to explore: How do we teach students to make smart financial decisions? Students are diving into financial literacy and building money management skills that will serve them for life.
• Amanda Bolon (2nd grade, Morgan East Elementary | Morgan Local School District) is partnering with Blooming Woods Flower Farm to investigate: How can a flower farm stabilize business throughout the year? Students are thinking like entrepreneurs: analyzing seasons, supply chains, and creative revenue strategies.
• Elizabeth Donahue (4th grade, Warren Elementary | Warren Local School District is partnering with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to tackle a timely environmental question: Considering the impact of EHD, what should ODNR do next year regarding harvest limits of deer? Students are weighing science, sustainability, and public impact in real policy conversations.
Through RWPS, students aren’t just completing projects, they’re contributing ideas to banks, farms, and state agencies. They’re practicing critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and civic engagement in meaningful, place-based ways.
This is Community and Career Connected Learning in action: building confident students, responsive businesses, and stronger Southeastern Ohio communities. 💡
