Because of an incredible show of support across Ohio, children in Washington County will have opportunities that truly change the trajectory of their futures 💙

Through this year’s statewide Rotary fundraising campaign, $157,024 was raised to support students—with Rotary District 6690 leading the way and earning 1st place by raising $76,799.

Right here at home, the Marietta Noon, Marietta Morning, and Belpre Rotary Clubs came together in a powerful way—raising a combined $44,986 to invest directly in local kids.

What makes this impact even more meaningful is how far those dollars go. At just $155 to sponsor a child for the full five years of the program, that collective effort will support 290 students in Washington County alone.

290 kids. 290 futures. 290 stories that will be forever changed because this community showed up. 📚✨

We are so grateful for the continued partnership and belief in what’s possible for our students. This is what it looks like when a community rallies around its kids—and it’s truly incredible.

February Update ✨📚

In Washington County, bedtime stories are adding up in the best way. Through DPIL, 94,332 books have found their way into the hands of children under five.

Right now, 1,948 little readers are opening their mailbox each month to discover a brand-new story waiting just for them. And 2,013 graduates have completed their five-year journey — growing up one book at a time. 🎓

📚 Yesterday was a great day for early literacy in Washington County!

We had the pleasure of presenting on Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) at the Marietta Noon Rotary Club's meeting — and it was especially exciting to hear District 6690 Governor Terry Rataiczak announce the official launch of Rotary for Reading.

Rotary for Reading is a new statewide fundraising campaign supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio, selected by incoming Rotary District Governors as the 2026 service initiative. The campaign runs from January through noon on March 14, 2026, with Rotary districts across Ohio working together in a friendly competition to reach a collective goal of $250,000.

Here in Washington County, we are currently reaching about 66% of children ages 0–5 who are eligible to be enrolled — and with support from partners like Rotary, we have a powerful opportunity to grow that impact and reach even more families.

We’re deeply grateful to Rotary for championing early literacy and investing in our children’s futures — one book, one child, and one community at a time. 📚💙

We are so grateful to West Virginia Central Federal Credit Union for celebrating their Day of Giving with a generous $4,000 donation to DPIL. 💫❤️

📣Exciting News! Our Where's Dolly? Scavenger Hunt is back again this year, and we can't wait for all the fun on Friday, August 1st, during Marietta Main Street's August First Friday!

📚Event Details:
• Date: Friday, August 1st
• Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
• Location: Begin & end at the Armory, 241 Front Street Marietta, OH 45750
• Cost: $25 per team

Teams will embark on a scavenger hunt filled with delightful book-themed clues scattered across various downtown businesses. As they solve each clue, they’ll explore our charming downtown and visit local businesses. Plus, whether the team solves all the clues or not, they’ll be entered into a raffle for exciting prizes!

All registered teams will be automatically entered to win an exciting prize, and those who successfully complete the scavenger hunt will be eligible for a chance to win $250 in Marietta Bucks!
The prize drawing will be held at 7:15 PM, so teams should stick around to see if they’re a lucky winner.

For a $25 donation, you can register your team (limited to 5 people) online or sign up in person at the event.
