From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. ❤️

You raised $295, and Women in Business Roswell is sending another $300! 🙌

It is 10:00 tonight, and this mom and her 2-year-old son are in a hotel room.

Not a car.

A room.
A bed.
A shower.

We used close to $200 for the hotel tonight. The rest will help with child care for her son so she can work toward a better job and more stability.

Today, we received five calls from families in dire situations. This was the most urgent, but we are still working with the others and more than a dozen families trying to get stable and stay stable.

Housing is expensive. Life is expensive. Families working hard every day are struggling to make it.

But tonight…

❤️ One little boy is safe.
❤️ His mom can breathe.
❤️ They are not alone.

Tonight, a 2-year-old is sleeping in a car unless we raise $200.

We are over capacity.

But when a 27-year-old mom walked into our office today with her little boy after spending the last month living in her car, we could not turn them away.

She is not struggling with drugs or alcohol.

She is working hard and doing everything she can to keep her son safe.

A shelter can take them Thursday.

We just need to bridge the gap.

$200 covers two hotel nights and food until a shelter bed opens.

Our parking lot is about to become a carnival.

And, we cannot wait.

Hundreds of children will get what they need to start school with joy and confidence:

🍭 Cotton candy
🎁 Prizes
🎒 Backpacks and supplies
👓 Vision screenings
🩺 Health checks

And for the first time, parents can receive blood pressure screenings, and 10 uninsured moms or dads will receive a full year of preventive health care thanks to The Dawn Foundation. 👏

Because children do better when parents are healthy too.

Now we need your help.

A teenager is in a group home.

She wants to go home to her grandma.

So today, community showed up.

Our crew spent Sunday morning helping get that home ready. We even picked up a foosball table for our youth.

Patrick worked right alongside us all morning.

He runs a large company, but today he carried couches, loaded trucks, and did whatever needed to be done.

Our kind of guy.

A teenage girl and siblings want to come home from foster care.

Grandma is fighting for them.

We are helping get their home ready.

Their family is worth fighting for. 🙌

THEY ARE HOME!!!

Five children are back home with their mom after three years apart.

A huge shoutout to Women in Business Roswell for rallying YOUR givers, friends, donors, and supporters.

YOU HELPED BRING FIVE CHILDREN HOME FROM FOSTER CARE.

You helped get the electricity back on.
You helped remove the final barriers.
You helped provide beds and bedding.
You helped bring this family back together.

The kids are overjoyed.
Mom is overjoyed.
We are overjoyed.

This is what community can do.

As they settle back in, there will still be needs: child care, summer activities, and all the practical support that help a family reunify after years apart.

A grandmother raising her grandchildren should not have to wonder where everyone will sit for dinner.

Today, she doesn’t.

Because a truck showed up.
Because people showed up.

Join us in thanking Hidalgo Services LLC and friends!

Tomorrow, we need help doing it again.

We have furniture ready to go to families who need it. We just need a few helping hands and a truck.

This dad said it best:

“If everyone would pitch in and help, people would not have to be homeless for 12 years.”

He worked for 12 years.

And was still homeless.

Not unemployed.

Working.

But effort alone could not fix what poverty kept breaking.

Now, that changed.

After 12 years of homelessness, this family moved into stable housing they can afford with support from our partners and community.

But one major barrier remained.

Their car was beyond repair.

Without reliable transportation, stability can disappear fast.

So our community found a van, and we purchased it for $2,000.

Then Christian Brothers Automotive stepped in with extraordinary generosity.

They invested more than $6,500 in repairs and preventive maintenance to make sure the van was safe, reliable, and ready for this family.

Reliable transportation helps a family keep what they fought so hard to reach.

A home.

A reliable van.

Room to breathe.

Thank you to our community.

Today, a dad drove away able to get to work, get his kids where they need to go, and keep building the stability he fought 12 years to reach.

Safety is not something adults announce.

It is something young people decide they feel.

These teens do not just attend KinRise.
They help decide what it becomes.

When they said, “We only want only the same staff who get it and have lived it during belonging circles,” we listened.

When they said, “No volunteers. No counselor from 6 to 7. We need that hour to feel safe,” we changed it.

When they said, “Bring the counselor later, during free choice,” we said yes.

And when they said, “The counselor needs to be funny, not too serious, and not older than 40,” we laughed.

Then we started looking.

Because youth voice is not a suggestion box.

It is power.

The room.
The rhythm.
The staff.
The support.
The feeling.

They are shaping all of it.

That is KinRise.

Not a program young people are invited into.

A place they have the power to build.
